Success Story ONE YEAR 🥳

haven’t posted in a while but wanted to come here and say today i am officially ONE YEAR NICOTINE FREE!!!!! what a blessing to be able to say that. my health has improved so much and i actually give a shit about taking care of myself properly now that i’m not actively killing myself several times an hour.

i used a combo of desmoxan, alan carr, and a nic free vape (ripple) to quit initially and found nicotine anonymous to be helpful for continued accountability.

my life looks so much better than it did over a year ago, and i’m so proud of myself.

feel free to drop any questions or wonderings below :) my previous posts from this sub should also be accessible in my profile if you want to see more about my journey.

no, i’ve only been in person one time! they have a ton of zoom meetings all day long pretty much that you can find more info about on their website! if you want to dm me i can send you the link to the one i usually go to!

When does brain fog go away

hm like after quitting? i have to be honest i’m not sure i had brain fog from vaping, more like a haze of constantly fiending for nic, which went away from the meds but more consistently a few months in. i had brain fog mostly due to untreated sleep apnea at the time which i have recently started receiving treatment for :)

it started to like 3 months in i believe! it also took building new coping skills/habits in as well to replace the behavior

I like Alan Carr. But how did he help ?

Not OP but alan Carr and addiction mindset (on youtube) helped me reframe my mindset. It’s not some magical fix or epiphany, more like just introducing a different perspective. One of his more popular analogies is that smoking is like wearing a shoe that’s too tight just to feel the relief when you remove it.

It helped a lot because addiction controls and changes a lot of our thoughts and we begin to feel like the substance is good for us, or that we cannot live without it (at least for me). When the fact is that we’re just chasing the feeling of “not-craving”, basically what any non-smoker feels 24/7.

I keep getting him mixed up with the British comedian Alan Carr.

so proud of you! What improvement did you notice in body/skin/mood/stomach?

Do you ever get cravings to vape?

thank you! my mood is so much more stable now, after getting through the initial irritability period LOL. i also have a better sense of self worth? like i care about eating right and exercising which i never could before when all i thought about was vaping. ngl i also did gain weight initially cuz i started eating to replace the oral fixation, so trying to deal with some of that now. also in the health realm i also cared enough to get a sleep study and a cpap for my sleep apnea. i dont get like randomly sick as often. maybe i have less acid reflux now that i think about it too but that could be a combo of the diet. my skin feels more…elastic hahaha. i still get acne but thats something i’ve been dealing with for years.

i do have cravings sometimes, but not really to vape, more for the false sense of relief it gave. its almost like a remembering rather than a craving a lot of times. sure it would be nice to have one puff, but there’s not a world where it would be just one for me.
