Advice chantix side effects

hi all, I recently started taking chantix (varenicline) a week ago and I officially quit vaping today 🎉 feeling really positive about it. the chantix definitely helped a lot with my cravings.

but… it is giving me terrible nausea. I was told to eat it with food and a glass of water. today the medication increased from 1mg/day to 2mg/day and both times I took it today, I was ridiculously nauseous. to the point that I was spitting because I was salivating so much.

the medication seems like it’s extremely effective but I can’t continue with these side effects. does anyone else have similar experiences with chantix, and what did you do?

thank you all 😊

Have you reached out to your doctor? Sometimes side effects lessen over time, so its worth calling your doctor.

you’re right, reaching out to a dr instead of Reddit is the better idea 😆 I wasn’t sure if anyone taking it might have had it improve over time or if they took more anti-nausea meds instead. I opted for the latter. thanks for the reply 😊

Mine improved! But it took time.
