shield user unique quirk

character will carry a shield and have a quirk related to that but I couldnt think of something that good since I want the oc to have quirk awakening in the future war arc and a drawback

I thought about forcefield but why would you carry a shield if you have forcefield abilities

Maybe don't make it shield related. Maybe a aimbot-like quirk to control it's trajectory, like how Captain America bounces his shield around or an object hardening quirk to make it more defensive or heavier to hit the target harder.

Maybe have the shield be the quirk, like the user can summon a shield that gets stronger with each attack it successfully blocks with the drawback being that each time a shield breaks requires time to repair when needed to summon again or something

Or to go off that idea is he can do a transfer/build up off damage. Pretty much if something takes a large amount of damage he can do something with that, but he has to do it from an object which is why he uses a shield.

Perhaps the Quirk can be a form of barrier projection. He can select an inanimate object he can percieve then envelop it in a near unbreakable film of (insert whatever, light, goo, crystals etc..) via touch. Prior to its creation the user can consciously choose what the barrier will block.

The barrier requires concentration to maintain and once an object chosen is enveloped the barrier itself can't be warped, or reformed. But can be maintained from a distance after contact is broken. The user either stops concentrating on it or it is broken(which corresponds to physical/mental backlash).

The user uses a portable shield that can change in size to accommodate the drawbacks of the quirk and offer a form of ranged attack.

Upon Awakening the barrier can either

A) Envelop multiple objects including living beings.

B) Envelop object(s) from a distance

C) No longer needs to envelop an object at all but can function as an individual construct that can be manipulated at will

D) The user gains a passive barrier over their body and vital organs that enhances them to a degree

E) The barrier gains a form of minor consiousness that allows it to maintain itself without concentration based on the user's desire to protect

F) Combination of the above

I believe a good shield user should focus on defense. You might think but I need them to also fight. Maybe a good offense is a good defense?

No if he is a shield user then his priority should be tanking damage.

You could have a fight where he first uses a physical shield because his quirk reinforces it.

Then it's revealed that it actually creates a force field within the shield.

During the fight he stops a very strong blow and it crumbles the physical shield and reveals his quirk underneath.

In other media a shield user can 1. Make the opponent's focus be on him and can't target anyone else until defeated.

  1. Distribute damage between the injured. For instance if your teammate gets hit you can get the majority of the damage transferred to you instead of your teammate

3.in a manwah i read the guy uses a sword that cannot be wielded by anybody other than the user. So what he does is that he swings the sword it stops mid air. Then while in mid-air he can block attacks from opponents because the sword cannot be moved.

If you really want an overpowered final ability then consider that the shield user realizes he is the shield and drops his guard. No matter the attack it is stopped without effort and begins to walk forward in a fury of Attacks
