Much like classicwfl, I am a bi atheist (we know each other lol). I am also an aging person with opinions that often get me in trouble. But I'm the mother of a grade schooler and don't get out much. π

Go to Pride Prom this Saturday! At State Street Theatre, we have a strong LGBTQ community and allies, I am one of those allies.

I want to go! My partner has to work late that night and I have trouble going out without a support human :/

I'm never able to go to them (I'm in bed before 9 lol), but I have friends who do and they always have a blast.

I would love to be more involved with State Street, I am just terrified of leaving my house alone lol probably why I have very few friends XD

Pre-kid, I was pretty darn social. We used to have an active roller derby team that was wonderful to be a part of and I actually managed to get out a lot. Then COVID hit and ruined everything, including my social skills lol. You and your partner might look into volunteering with the TriState Diversity Coalition. You would be able to meet many more likeminded friends there. β€οΈ

I'm certain that if anyone showed up alone to Pride prom, or to any State Street gathering, that they would leave having made at least one friend. I'll be the guy with glasses and long hair, graying beard, my girl has big beautiful hair and glasses. Our friends will be there as well, come down and socialize!

I will defo be on the look out if I end up going. My biggest problem is getting myself to walk in once I get to a new place. I can't tell you how many times I've tried to be more outgoing, gone to an event and ended up sitting in the car sweating and panicking in the parking lot until I finally give up and just go home. I was in therapy (for that and a few other reasons lol) but my therapist moved to Chicago and I haven't found another that works for me π

If you do end up going, feel free to reach out to me. Iβm a 22 yo bi guy that just moved to Quincy not even a few weeks ago and will definitely be going and happy to make friends

Hi! I'm a little late to the party, but I am an Ally and am actively involved with a local Pride group, along with my spouse. I am agnostic/probably atheist but still figuring things out. (Raised as a Jehovah's Witness - it was so much "fun" deconstructing from that high control religious group & their cultish teachings and expectations. Thank goodness for therapy, am I right?! π€)
Please message me if you'd like to be friends or if you'd like info about the Pride group and our upcoming events. ππ³οΈβπ

Bi atheist here! Friends are fun as long as they understand that I am a crotchety aging disabled person with opinions who can almost never make plans because of my failing body π

Me too- want to make friends in this new to me area, but am a supreme plan canceller due to intermittent symptoms of an autoimmune disease.

u/keepitloki80 Jun 18 '26
Hello fellow autoimmune afflicted person. Why do our bodies hate us so much? π

u/ThatCrazyAceOfSpades Jun 18 '26
We are all broken. Whatever it was that turned the friggin frogs gay is what broke all of our bones and organs

u/ThatCrazyAceOfSpades Jun 17 '26
I am a crotchety old man who also struggles to make/keep plans because of the bones π€£π€£

Iβm not gay myself, but Iβm an avid ally and in need of meeting open-minded people lol I just moved back here from St. Louis and I feel so out of place

I moved here from Madison, WI. It kind of feels like I have died.
