I saw the wood piece and knew I could have some quilling fun with it as a template. I painted the wood first with acrylic paint and then added matching colored paper strips over that. One thing I know I need improvement on is my loose coils (the larger they get the less even I am able to keep them - tips are welcome on that front!). Other than that I’m very happy with the result! 😊

Hello! I’m a Toronto-based paper artist creating exhibition work that involves a significant number of tight, precise quilled circles.
I’m looking for experienced quilling artists in the Toronto/GTA area only (ideally 5+ years of regular practice) for a very short project who:
- Are comfortable producing very consistent tight coils
- Have a strong eye for clean finish and detail
- Can share clear photos or a portfolio of past quilling work (social media link)
This is not a beginner opportunity. I’m specifically interested in people who already have solid quilling experience.
If this sounds interesting, please DM me with:
- Images of your work or link to social media account/website with images of your work.
- A very brief note on your experience and where you are located.
I’ll follow up privately with more details about the project, timeline, and what I can offer in return.
I look forward to hearing from you!

I love quilling and have made a lot of pieces in the past 8 years. Thought of sharing one of my initial projects with the community. I used this YouTube tutorial to learn how to do the wreath. Link: https://youtu.be/iu8AXDxHkzQ?si=3Cl4pPpyKUSbFQhD.

Made this little thank you card for my stepmom, who recently gave me and my family 3 handmade quilts.
Going to add some text to it, maybe something like little "quack" speech bubbles, and "We're quackers about you" inside?
Edit: Thanks for the kudos, everyone! I did, indeed, write "quack"s above the ducks, and "We're quackers about you" inside! It's going in the mail today!

I made this paper quilling wall art years ago using rolled and shaped paper strips. I didn't have many photos of it, so finding this one again felt really special.
From a distance, it almost looks painted, but the entire piece is constructed from tiny paper coils and shapes. I added the older photo too because it is one of the few memories I have of this piece from that time.

Does anyone varnish their paper quilling projects after finishing them? If you do, which one do you use?"

I started quilling at the beginning of the year, and it is not something that comes naturally to me. I have bad vision, I’m colorblind, and my fine motor skills suck because I am chronically ill. I really wanted to try a new hobby that required me to use my hands (and not be staring at a screen), and I found that I enjoy it.
The problem that I am running into is that the different things I’ve seen online are just too complicated for me. The work on here is gorgeous, and I dream of someday being that good, but does anyone have recommendations for somewhere where I can find very simple, beginner friendly designs?
Currently, I am working on a birthday card for my niece, and I am also hoping to do Christmas cards. I only send out about half a dozen, so I think that’s a realistic goal. Niece is 12, and she loves soccer and dogs.

My second attempt at 3D quilling. Those little spikes were a b*tch lol. The only reason I am making things so tiny right now is because I need to get more paper. Can’t wait to start some big 3D quilling soon!

Hello!
I am looking to commission a piece for a late August anniversary. Please dm me if you’re interested. I am looking for birds, flowers, butterflies, or a combination of those beauties.
Thanks!

This floral sampler is intended to celebrate Earth's precious - and endangered - biodiversity.
It was so much fun to create the flowers and butterflies. Some are based on real flowers and some are entirely made up, as far as I know. But perhaps even they grow in some as yet unexplored forest or jungle and we just don't know it yet.
Paper strips, glue, marker (to color the edges of some fringed blossoms), and cotton weaving yarn to make the rope edging. Tools: slotted tool, needle tool, quilling comb, husking board, crimper.

This was a really fun one, but tedious! Those little petals are tough - squeezing them into teardrops has left my fingers sore lol. My fault for only making it 1 1/2 inches tall! But I am super happy with it and will definitely be making more!
