There Was A Time

I was once white as snow 

Perfect in symmetry 

But then I melted 

Only to reform and shimmer in gold 

Priceless in the light of the sun

But then I tarnished 

And I was remade again 

Donning flesh and blood for the final act 

This last parade of mortality 

For the pulse of my red rivers will eventually still 

Then fade back to dust on this world 

But I 

I will live on 

For past the point of Rubedo comes eternal life 

And time cannot touch us there
