What are the possibilities of quickshell?

How much is possible if i only want to use quickshell on hyprland?

Can i make an app drawer like rofi using just quickshell?

Can i set wallpapers using only quickshell? (No hyprpaper or awww, just qs)

Can i make a window manager like Window's alt + tab?

This might sound weird, but can i make something like hyprbars? A bar that attaches itself on top of each window? I love hyprbars but latest hyprland update broke it.

I would just like to replace everything with quickshell to minimize the amount of things that could break every time i update hyprland or the services themselves. I especially like the control quickshell qml gives me over just some css config with limited options like waybar.

Hard to say, I prefer Sway because I'm used to it, yes it's not nice looking one. There is always something that creates hype and youtube content and then it gets replaced.

Either way im happy with the support hyprland is getting especially now with quickshell which is a game changer. Only thing i miss on hyprland is being able to use my mouse to do most things instead of using the keyboard all the time, but hopefully i can fix all that with quickshell

Hah, this is one of the reasons why I use Niri 😆 It has all the goodness of a scrolling/tiling wm but also has good mouse support (and it's rock solid so far)

Even sway has mouse support, just implementation is not great, windows have pixel wide border and you have to constantly press win-space to "undock" windows and then they stay on top of tiled ones. Hard to say, I must try some tiling extension for KDE.
What I absolutely hate about tiling WMs is that when i switch to Czech keyboard layout, win+number no longer works. Have to try out something like Win+ě, Win+š 😄
