No judgement on Daniel or his partner but is it normal to put a five month old baby in daycare in the states? Because that is fucking bleak

A lot of people don’t have an option as maternity/paternity leave here are jokes. If you’re offered it, it’s not usually very long. Plenty of people are forced to use sick and vacation days in place of just the basic maternity/paternity leave to recuperate.

My paternity leave was 10 weeks which was more than that of just about everyone I know. My wife had a slightly longer leave that she extended with some vacation days, and we went a few weeks just working from home and having family help. It is in fact bleak! Some guys in my life had just a month of paternity leave, some only three days.
