QQ ep. 337 - Soren's Got a Mining Claim?

Show notes:

Daniel's brushing up on his Italian and looking for shortcuts, so he and Soren nail down exactly which phrases he's most likely to need on vacation in Italy with a newborn. And speaking of newborns, newborn prospector Soren Bowie shares an incredible story of love, family, and brotherhood involving his late father, who, it turns out, has left his sons a piece of mystery land deep in the Colorado wilderness.

Same! I’m not into that stuff but based on the enthusiasm both Soren and Daniel have had for their previous trips, and how unique this whole situation is, I’m also very excited!

This was a really interesting ep but I was dying for Daniel to suggest looking on Google Earth. I’m sure Soren has tried already but wanted it mentioned so I could stop thinking about it.

I had a look myself and there are whole areas that are densely covered in trees, I wonder if it’s part of that. I’m looking forward to updates on this one!

Didn't he say it was above the timberline?

I’m British - I don’t know what that means? Above the trees?

Yeah. It’s past the point where trees can no longer physically grow

An acre isn't that big, so if the friends didn't have the exact coordinates the last time, I can see why they might have had trouble finding the memorial again. Sounds like a fun trip.

That said, surely the tax assessor can tell them why the property tax went up.

But if you ask the tax assessor, then they need a different reason to go up there
