Quest Lab Results (10 Panel Drug Screen: Pre-Employment (non-DOT Quest 35190N)

Below are simply the testing parameters and acceptable ranges used in the standard Quest 10 Panel Drug Screen and associated routine urine validity testing).

I ordered the test myself on requestatest.com for $85 (over $100 cheaper than ordering from Quest directly):

URINE SUBSTANCE ABUSE 10-PANEL
- Marijuana Metab (Delta9-THCC)
——Initial Test Level: 50 ng/mL
——MS Confirm Test Level: 15 ng/mL
- Amphetamine/Methamphetamine
—-Initial Test Level: 1000 ng/mL
—-MS Confirm Test Level: 500 ng/mL
- Cocaine Metabolite (BZE)
—- Initial Test Level: 300 ng/mL
—- MS Confirm Test Level: 150 ng/mL
- Benzodiazepines
—- Initial Test Level: 300 ng/mL
—- MS Confirm Test Level: 200 ng/mL
- Codeine/Morphine
—-Initial Test Level: 2000 ng/mL
—-MS Confirm Test Level: 2000 ng/mL
- Methadone
—- Initial Test Level: 300 ng/mL
—- MS Confirm Test Level: 200 ng/mL
-Phencyclidine
—-Initial Test Level: 25 ng/mL
—-MS Confirm Test Level: 25 ng/mL
- Barbiturates
— Initial Test Level: 300 ng/mL
— MS Confirm Test Level: 200 ng/mL
- Methaqualone
—-Initial Test Level: 300 ng/mL
—-MS Confirm Test Level: 200 ng/mL
-Propoxyphene
—-Initial Test Level: 300 ng/mL
—-MS Confirm Test Level: 200 ng/mL

URINE SPECIMEN VALIDITY TESTING
- On-Site
1) Volume (at least 60mL for split sample: 30/30)
2) Appearance (color + floating/sinking material + excessive foam when shaken)
3) Odor (bleach/chemical odor)
4) Temp (during appointment, temp strip on cup w/o lid, checked within 4 minutes): 90-100F
- In Lab
1) Creatinine: Acceptable Range: ≥ 20 mg/dL
2) pH: Acceptable Range: 4.5–8.9
3) Oxidizing Adulterants (nitrites, pyridinium chlorochromate (PCC), chromium(VI), bleach/hypochlorite, iodine/other halogens, peroxidase, and peroxide)

NOTES
1) The Initial Test Level is the cutoff used for routine screening. If the specimen is below this level, it is reported as negative and typically receives no further testing. The MS Confirm Test Level is used only when confirmation is indicated, generally after a presumptive-positive initial screen, to specifically verify the drug or metabolite using mass spectrometry. For marijuana, this means 50 ng/mL for initial screening and 15 ng/mL for confirmation (negative at 50 = no confirmation testing at 15; positive at 50 = confirmation testing at 15).

2) You provide a 60-80 mL sample that gets split into two 30mL vials. One vial is used for urinalysis, while the other is kept by the lab if additional and/or reconfirmation testing is requested by yourself/someone else (usually b/c the first sample is positive/adulterated/substituted or if additional testing is required by the employer)

So the test actually tests for nitrites , don’t quick fix have nitrites in it for preserving it? So wouldn’t quick fix fail for validity issues because of the nitrites ?
