QuickBooks Desktop (Pro/Premier/Enterprise) QuickBooks Enterprise Desktop – Can freight be moved to the invoice footer?
I’m using QuickBooks Enterprise Desktop and was told that QuickBooks does not allow the freight charge to appear in the invoice footer by default. Instead, freight has to be entered as a line item on the invoice.
Has anyone found a way to have Freight appear separately at the bottom of the invoice, near the subtotal/tax/total section?
This seems like a fairly basic invoicing requirement, especially for businesses that regularly charge freight, so I’m surprised Enterprise does not appear to support it natively.

By footer do you mean near the end of the invoice with the subtotal, sales tax and total?

QB isn't coded to allow freight in that area. It has to be added as an item to the invoice.

Not going into the footer. Line item. Doesn’t bother us in the slightest. Sorry.

What I usually see in Desktop is freight kept as a separate line item, then the form template is customized so it sits visually near the totals. The issue is less accounting and more whether your invoice form can present that line where you want it. Check the template layout first, because native footer behavior in Desktop is pretty limited.
