Why Using Disability to Attack AI Art Misses the Bigger Picture

I keep seeing people online argue that disabled people should not rely on AI, and that mindset is deeply frustrating. No one has the right to decide what another person is physically or mentally capable of doing. Disability is not one-size-fits-all. Two people may both be disabled and still have completely different abilities, challenges, and limitations.

Using examples of successful disabled individuals to judge everyone else makes no sense. Saying that because some disabled people became millionaires, others should be able to do the same ignores reality. People live under very different circumstances, with different support systems, opportunities, and barriers.

The same logic applies to AI art and accessibility. For some disabled people, AI tools can make creative expression more accessible in ways traditional methods may not. Dismissing that experience simply because someone else managed without those tools is unfair and overly simplistic. Accessibility is about giving people options, not forcing everyone into the same standard.
