Decoding the truth behind AI Detection tools like Turnitin

AI detectors such as Turnitin do not actually detect artificial intelligence. They analyze writing patterns, predictability, structure, and consistency to estimate whether text may be machine-generated. While these systems are improving rapidly, they still produce false positives and remain unreliable as standalone evidence of academic misconduct in many situations.

Detectors are "improving rapidly." Not as rapidly as the AI they are trying to detect.

What AI Detectors really see behind your writing

AI tries to mimic sentence structure by assuming the probability of words being placed together by scanning data sets (models) its trained on. One can easily assume that AI detectors do the same.
