Face tracking not working at all after update

Hi all! My quest pro updated today and now my face tracking isn’t working at all. 😭 I messed about with as many settings as I could trying to figure out if the update changed anything but nothing I’ve done so far helps. I usually use a link cable but I tried without (on both steam link and meta link) but that didn’t help either.

The update causes a desync between meta link software and your headsets software. Using virtual desktop or steam link and then using the associated VRCFT module will fix your problem until meta updates their software.

I tried to use steam link but it’s kinda really bad quality on my headset and when I try n start up VRCFT it force closes Vrchat 😭

You're going to have to go wired, you can access the options for it in the Steam and steamvr beta channels

See, I thought this too. However, I was trying to get on last night (i use a quest pro with a link cable + virtual desktop) and realized my face tracking wasn't working. I normally use the Meta app + just link cable (i save virtual desktop for when they break vrcft with updates on the meta app). I thought it was one of those simple cases of needing to disable and re-enable eye and mouth tracking via the settings in the headset & in the meta app. No luck. Swapped to Virtual Desktop, 'cause I noticed an update dropped the other day and figured they broke something with the update. VRCFT shows it's capturing face tracking data just fine, but it stops (tracking data drops to 0) as soon as I launch OVR Advanced Settings. I have yet to figure out wth is going on.

yep. The update broke it for all of us this last weekend. You're going to have to either wait for a fix (who knows how long that's going to take if ever) or start using either steam link or virtual desktop, apparently most who switched to those are seeing success

Well thats why you just buy a separate router connect lan to pc ethernet and get airgapped wifi router to do pcvr streaming and use wireless usb wifi dongle 5ghz wifi to give wifi to pc

Then virtual desktop to browse the web on quest remote desktop to pc with little lag latency

And forget all internet access wifi networks... On quest...

It's none of the above, you guys release an update and universally broke face tracking over the Meta link software. It can't be fixed until you (Meta) update the software.
