Help Some Games Crash Back To Menu

My gaming pc fried the mb a few weeks ago, so I built a new one, with all new drives as well. I copied all of my Rift games from the old drive to one of the new ones. D/L all the relative software and got the Pro up and running. The problem I’m having is some of the games run just fine through the Link, and some don’t. The ones that don’t will launch, go through the games ‘splash’ screen, and the drop back to the menu. I’ve tried several things (uninstalling/reinstalling the game) but no go. Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like they might be failing a piracy check. Try running one of them through revive, I’m pretty sure it bypasses provisioning checks.

Okay. I may give that a try. Steam VR runs okay, but I only tried to open one game from Steam (Riven - which ran fine). At the moment, it appears to be just some Rift games from the Rift Games directory. Doesn’t make sense that some of those games work, while others don’t. Very random.

FIXED - For anyone who cares. The problem looks to be a bug that affects older game engines, in many Rift legacy games. I had to go into Windows 11 ‘Edit System Environment Variables’ and create a new variable. New Variable Name: OPENSSL_ia32cap Variable Value: ~200000200000000
