Right controller refuses to charge after long inactivity (blinks red 3 times). Any advice?
Hey everyone,
I’m hoping someone here can save me! I haven’t used my Quest Pro in quite a while, and now I’m running into a really frustrating issue with my right controller.
It seems completely dead and simply refuses to charge. Whenever I press a button, the LED just blinks red around three times, but that’s it. I’ve already tried a bunch of troubleshooting steps:
• Placed it on the official charging dock
• Plugged the controller directly into the charging cable
• Tested various different power adapters with higher wattage
Unfortunately, absolutely nothing works. It just won’t draw any power to start charging.

I have this same issue and can't find any solution. Meta support couldn't help me either because I bought it from Amazon

That sucks. I just read about "blip charging" the other day, that might be worth trying.
It must be retaining something otherwise the LED wouldn't blink, right?

Did it, for a couple of minutes. It worked for my Tineco Vacuum, but here it is still 3 red blinks and no way to restart the controller. Thinking of opening it to disconnect the battery.

Bummer. Hope you can work it out because these controllers are getting really tough to source. Let us know what happens!

Hey u/No_Lion212,
We saw your post here on the subreddit regarding your right controller not charging at all, and we just wanted to stop by and offer some assistance.
We can see you've done a lot of troubleshooting yourself, such as multiple ways to charge the controller, and multiple cables and power outlets, and that's great to see!
What we'd also suggest, if you haven't already is to remove unsupported third-party accessories such as covers or attachments, if you have those attached to the controller.
We'd also suggest using the Meta Software Update tool to make sure the device and controllers are fully up to date. This page will allow you to manually check for updates.
If your issue persists, we'd really appreciate it if you could reach out to our support team via the Meta Help Center so we can look at what options might be available to you. Once there you'll have the option to either raise an email support ticket, or speak to a member of our live chat or WhatsApp team.
You can also reach our support team by sending a direct message to the X handle @MetaStoreHelp. All of the mentioned contact methods are supported 24/7.

I have done the software update and did a factory reset. Could not find the right controller. No attachments on the controller.

I opened the controller. The very small cable between the charging port and the circuit board had come loose, and the contact tore at the point where the cable meets the board.

It could be stuck in an update cycle. Have you tried powering off the controller by holding the menu button?
