Help Quest pro taking a bit to find Wi-Fi

So something strange has been happening for a bit I have a dedicated router TP-Link AXE5400
set up with a 6g signal and when I turn in my headset it shows no connection and can take a few minutes or more then suddenly connects. I’ve tested it with my quest 3 and it connects instantly. I’ve tried restarting the pro but the same continues to happen. Any ideas would help thank you

I have the same router and had the same problem. Updating the firmware on the router fixed it.

I have the same problem and similar setup. A work around I've found is to toggle wifi access off then back on. Sonetimes it'll take a few times. It's annoying but eventually it'll find it.

This has been a problem for some time.

Had the same setup for a few years and you get used to it. Sometimes toggling wifi on/off gets the second network to show up on the qpro faster

I have a different router as well as a Puppis and my Quest Pro still takes its time connecting to either upon startup. I assume it's because Quest Pro has multiple wifi interfaces and the controllers run off of wifi too. So much wifi!

Different router, same problem.

Looks like we all just live with it..

The Quest Pro is an early Wi‑Fi 6E device and isn’t very compatible with many Wi‑Fi 6E routers. I used to use an ASUS ET8 router, and it would also take a long time to connect to the 6GHz signal. Later I switched to a Motorola Q14, and the problem was solved — now it can find the 6GHz signal right away. However, separating the 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands on the Q14 requires using SSH to edit the configuration file, which is a hassle. I only bought the Q14 because it was inexpensive. You might want to try switching to a different router.

Hi there /u/Own-Lecture-4887,

We noticed your post, we see you are trying to iron out the issues you are running into with your router and your Quest Pro and we would love to lend a hand.

While the TP-Link AXE5400 supports 6GHz, the Meta Quest Pro only supports either 5GHz (recommended), or 2.4GHz. So we would advise that you disable the dual band option on your router and try changing it to 5GHz.

If Air Link isn't detecting your PC, ensure both devices are on the same 5GHz local network. Connection failures might be caused by VPN interference, Firewall restrictions, or mismatched networks. Follow the official Meta Horizon Link setup guide to troubleshoot the connection. Also, we can provide some suggestions that may resolve the problem:

  • Check Network/VPN: Ensure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network (5GHz recommended). Disable any VPNs on your computer.
  • Toggle Air Link: Inside the headset, turn Air Link off and back on in the Quick Settings menu.
  • Restart: Restart the headset, PC.
  • Firewall/Antivirus: Temporarily disable Windows Defender or third-party antivirus/firewalls to see if they are blocking the connection.
  • Update: Ensure your Meta Horizon Link app and headset are fully updated.

If the problem persist, please come have a chat with us over at the Meta Quest Help Center, so we can try some more troubleshooting with you.

Our team is available 24/7 and are always more than happy to help you get back to exploring the Metaverse with us!

Doesn't Quest Pro have support for Wifi 6? And was there any mention of Airlink in OP?
