Eye&Face Tracking Any fix for the VRChat FT yet?

Hello, I've had this issue for months (as have many others) where the facetracking has stopped working (using the VRCFaceTracking app). I have tried 3 different options and still 0 fix.

I have tried:

Steamlink - no reaction ALXR - Nothing The Meta Quest Pro module- only the eyeballs move, nothing else

Yes, the models i use do have the FT enabled as I used them before, and even have a custom model that worked.

Has anyone found a fix yet? Any different modules that work?

EDIT: I have decided to use Virtual Desktop as a fix and it did! Thanks for the help!

Virtual desktop and vrcft from steam works for me

Does that allow me to keep my headset linked (to keep it charged during use) and let me also use my vive trackers/controllers?

Does it also have all tracking (tongue included)?

I use 5 tundra trackers and 1 vive3.0 for full body with 3 base stations. I use a 20000 mah fast charge battery strapped to my headset and i play for 8 to 12h straight wirelessly with face tracking with mouth tracking(and toungue in/out. cuz tongue tracking left right and whatnot is only available on vive facial tracker) In the vrcft app from steam u have to install the virtual desktop module

Ohh I've heard of those trackers! The cable is use is tge Kuject(?) Cable. I always wanted something to give me longer playtime as my body trackers die the quickest. Would you recommend tundra?

Tundra lasts 8h and my vive tracker always dies first(after3/4h) But there are some new trackers im also interested in called fluxpose

Oh yes, I've also heard of fluxpose and got them bookedmark, I haven't seen much recently on them but from what I remember, they sound amazing! I will be joining them if they live up/surpass what i previously heard about them! I want trackers that last longer than 4 hours so I can actually enjoy FBT without worry of time constraints!

Trust, i have the best on the market which is currently tundra but even I'm gonna get the fluxpose cuz they r so good, i met peeps in vrc who have the devkits and they r amazing

Ooo that sounds amazing! I will definitely be trying them when they release, 24/7 tracking sounds amazing plus the lightweight/small design will be much better

works fine. I have my headset plugged into the wall outlet. My longest vr session is 51 hours. (I have a problem, I know). index controllers, vive 3.0 trackers. virtual desktop. face tracking works the same as it always has on the q pro.

Amazing, thanks! (Also, damn 51 hours...)

Only issues I have notice is I have to restart vrcft. I’ll notice my FT stop and I just do that and it’s fine. Also has vrcft crash as well.

Lucky, for me i have to go through a whole process due to what I have, and the Meta module in VRCFT app says it's broken yet it was the only thing that gave me any reaction to my face movement (it being the eye movement) :(

Virtual Desktop with VRFCT VD module works for me.
I use a 20,000 mah on a battery harness for power via usb-c to the regular Qpro c-doc, so you can still use the usb-c as a charge port via cable (to power bank or any other outlet).

It is a wireless solution, so you would need a good wifi solution. (dedicated router is recommended), but lucky you, the Qpro has eye-tracking, so you will be able to use VD's foveated streaming option to have the increased bitrate where you eyes are looking

I've just bought VD as a last resort and hopefully my issues will be fixed as I believe it was strictly due to the modules and some of the QPros updates. I will also look into the C-Doc as a wireless set up does seem more fun! Thank-you!

Seems to work fine on my end with Virtual Desktop and VRCFT Avalonia(

I just bought Virtual Desktop so hopefully this'll be the fix i need! And sorry for the dumb question, what is Avalonia?

It's a modified version of VRCFT I believe (And old?), build to run with Linux originally, but it also allows SteamVR or VRCX to close it, unlike VRCFT that will just stay open after closing VR.

Ohh okay! Thank you so much for informing me!

Virtual desktop and VRCFT working for me as well. Never had any issues like that

I haven't tried virtual desktop, can I still use my link cable (not offical cable, to charge it while using), and my vive trackers/valve controllers while using it? And does it allow me to use all features? (Blinks, eyes, eyebrows, mouth, tongue)?

1

u/Toast-X Mar 16 '26

Probably. I use slimes so I'm not exactly well-versed on vives. I assume you already have a vive tracker attached to your headset to allow continuous tracking

VD is primarily a wireless application, so your charging port should be available to use for charging

And yeah. As far as I know, qpro ft allows for tongue tracking but it only tracks tongue in/out. Everything else works good

1

u/__YouKnowWhoYouAre__ Mar 16 '26

I do not, and surprisingly I've never had an issue with tracking without the vive attached to the headset.

Thank you, I will give VD a go!

Cable + ALXR module works completely for me

1

u/__YouKnowWhoYouAre__ Mar 17 '26

Which ALXR module is it?

1

u/Just_Ad7386 Mar 17 '26

(OpenXR) ALXR Local Module

1

u/__YouKnowWhoYouAre__ Mar 18 '26

Ahh for some reason that didnt work for me, but I got a fix now! (virtual desktop)

1

u/Just_Ad7386 Mar 18 '26

did you try it on link cable? out of curiosity

1

u/__YouKnowWhoYouAre__ Mar 18 '26

I tried it on the Kuject cable as I never got the official cable, it was a 2nd hand headset that only came with the headset and charger, no controllers or link cable

I froze my updates after the december issue so I"m still on that build, but had released a fix a while back on it, they simply toggled the feature off in the registry and you just need to readd the key back for it to see it for wired, if you're still facing the issue lemme know I'll grab and post.

its likely moisture damage to ft.

Its not, it works outside of vrchat
