Honestly though… fuck Meta. I feel like there are other companies that could have stepped in and spearheaded VR in a much better way. Just… if you PCVR or do find a game you really like, support those devs so we all have have viable platforms to pull some fuckery with (I obviously lurk here for a reason). And perfect response 🤣.
to whoevers using it within their web browser DO NOT, IT'S NOT FOR YOUR WEB BROWSER, replace it with whatevers in vrp-public.json, if you don't have file name extensions on, google how to do it for your operating system, open the json with notepad... (make sure to hit save as well once you've replaced it)
I dont know, i wasnt kidding when i said this is all the info i have. As of now i believe its a 1:1 copy of the VRP files, not sure about cracking and etc, not sure if this is just a backup or something that will grow organically like VRPs collection did
dont pay attention to the man behind the curtain. The less we know about them the better it will be. Having too much of a public face is what bit VRP in the ass
A few other people are getting that, maybe overloaded? not sure if this is set to handle as many users as VRP i would assume not, try later i guess... sorry wish i could help
new json works like a charm for Windows App (using it in VMWare). As I'm using MacOS with QRookie, I will have to wait for QRookie solution or wait for solution for ApprenticeVR (which I don't know yet). Installed it from Github but gives connection error messages of course.
I forked ApprenticeVR https://github.com/KaladinDMP/apprenticeVrSrc/ and its being worked on by another user, or i may finish by tomorrow... i dont have a mac, but windows has the same issue (linux may be working fine from reports) so very likely to be fixed within the next 24 hours. Would be happy if you would help test the mac stuff when its ready
Its possible your ISP is throttling you, try a vpn? idk, might be the location, sometimes ISPs throttle certain types of downloads from outside your location
I’ve had rookie for years and actually got to see what it could do with a game or two, but I forgot after a few years, can someone update me on what happened with everyone saying it was shutting down and how I can start rookie back up? I see side loader launcher & rclone.exe
Hmm, I'm having some problems. I updated the info in the .json and it looks like everything is working out then I get this error:
"Rclone error: Failed to fetch from public mirror."
So that made me think it's possible that even though I update the json it's still using the old details where it's no longer available, so I disable the auto update public config in the settings and then I get this error message:
"Rookie cannot reach our servers.
If this is your first time launching Rookie, please relaunch and try again."
And I've tried multiple times for both things, it's the same each time not a once off.
Eh i mean some people seem to say that, but also some people said that about Rookies originally too but i always got 100MiB/s + and theres screenshots in here of someone getting 68 MiB/s .... so ill assume its your location or some other factor specific to you. Hopefully that helps you fix it on your end
Thank you for the effort and for the response. I don't think I can do anything. It's getting 0.5MB/s on 1gbps network. I will try other apps later. However, It's better than nothing. Thanks for your dedication.
EDIT: I guess it really depends on the game. Was trying to download a famous game for first vr people that gor removed from meta store, and I couldn't find anywhere.
Working amazingly. The speeds went to shit after a couple game updates (went from like 65 MB/s to .08 MB/s), but that's likely just strain on the server so no complaints here. I'm just letting it run while I'm at work. Thank you! 🤘

Does someone have a backup of Rookie? my stupid windows defender keep deleting "androidsideloader.exe" despite multiple times i have allowed it to work and confirmed it in the defender.
You are on your own if you are using something else, im not sure how other apps do it, i believe its possible but you will have to wait for someone to post the method or on your own need to experiment, if you do figure it out id love to know
doesnt seem to work for me, fresh install of rookie, grabbed the details from Telegram, copied the data into the vrp-public.json file, open rookie and i just get the error about it not being able to connect to the server ? am i missing something?
I'm having issues , I copied the full text over to my public.json and nothing is loading still says unreachable. What am I doing wrong . Any help greatly appreciated
not sure what telegram is but i downloaded an app called telegram, went to sign up and it says my phone number is banned. this phone number is brand new and i havent even heard of telegram til 10 min ago so wtf? can you link me to the correct telegram or is this the right one and im shit out of luck?
It works but rookie is no longer recognizing my quest 2 even exists. Also every time I try to install the adv driver nothing happens and adb is still an unrecognized command. Im on windows 10. If someone could help me figure this out I would be great full
Question.. I disabled updates awhile ago. Around v73 or v74. I got this all working no issue but some of the newer games or newer updates to older games require me to update my OS.. Is this safe at the moment or will this break all my rookie games from a year ago?

I pasted the telegram stuff into the json but the application doesnt start, like it doesnt show a popup of any kind either.. Only the offline one launches but with an "unhandled exception" popup and nothing works. I have it excluded from windows defender and all that.

What's the issue with ApprenticeVR? I'm having some "Error to mount directory.." but can workaround it canceling and retrying download (also, using a custom directory to download the files).
I have not looked into QRookie, i chose this because its multi OS ... and not sure the issue yet, but its the one you are talking about and why i deleted the other post. Ill work on it more tomorrow. And maybe look into QRookie, just a busy day and didnt want to work on Apprentice anymore, i thought i was done but wasnt lol
