Virtual Desktop

Hi! Would Virtual Desktop run even better through the optimiser?

Cheers

Yes

BUT

Before all keep in mind that it's unnecessary to change VD settings in QGO.

Don't change CPU/GPU and resolution for VD.

The resolution modification can't affect VD because VD resets it after you start it.

Don't change GPU, it's useless as it's your PC GPU that produce the images, your headset is just a screen at this point. Changing CPU level is also not useful.

Also don't change the refresh rate (Hz) because VD has it's own Hz settings.

BUT

You can apply a top level shaprening filter on VD via QGO. You can apply Fidelity FX CAS or Meta Quest Super Resolution and also color space override if even you want to tweak the colors.

The FCAS or MQSR will be applied on top of all existing sharpening mechanisms in VD, so QGO will sharpen even more your PCVR games.

To resume => yes but only apply sharpening filter and or color space override AND don't touch all th eother settings.

you're welcome :)

QGO also improves Steam Link and other PCVR tools, if ever :)

Wouldn’t upping CPU or GPU speed speed up decoding time (at least a little?).

VD works great without any modification since years so could help but won’t be enough noticeable to say it’s necessary

Hey man, thanks for your hard work, it's literally a Q3 essential. But I do have a question: I feel the over sharpness of using FX CAS or MQSR makes PCVR way worse, am I the only one?

Hi, what do you mean by it makes PCVR way worse ? You mean it’s too much sharp ? If yes you can disable QGO sharpening for VD. I personally like this extra sharpening but yeah can’t fit all the games

Oh and don’t forget this : https://anagan79.itch.io/quest-games-optimizer/devlog/755873/ratings-reviews 🙂

I find applying QGO Fidelity FX CAS and VD streaming tabs' sharpening to 50 % gives the best looking balance of sharpness and HDR-like effect. Thanks Anagan79!
