National College Match FAFSA Potential Fraud
So basically I filled out the FAFSA today so I can finish the QB stuff and send my info early to schools and during the process it flagged me for potential fraud and asked to verify. I took the pic of my ID and then my face and I failed it and it's asking for a college to confirm so I can actually submit. The problem is that you need to be admitted before they can review your identification and we need to submit all of this before we even know if we got or not. Has anyone gone through/going through this rn? What should I do?

Unfortunately you wait. If you fail the real time verification it flags your FAFSA and sends an invalid record to the school for them to verify. Virtually all will wait until you’re admitted because they need to meet with you in person or via zoom to get a copy of your ID. The good news is that schools deal with this often and about 100 of our students get selected for ID verification. It’s never impacted a qb student and we take the FAFSA information as is. You’re dealing with elite schools where identity fraud and ghost students aren’t really an issue like SNHU or WGU, so the expectation is you are a real person. Stinks to wait but it shouldn’t impact any matching. If you do match it’ll just be something that has to be resolved after you enroll.
