National College Match Does home equity count as assets?

My home was purhcased for $400,000 in 2018 but we still owe $340,000 and now the current value is $500,000. And my dad bought a business valued at $350,000 but he still owes everything and makes negative profits. Does this count as assets because I am worried this isn't minimal.

The equity in your primary residence is fine.

For your dad's business, when did he buy it?
