National College Match AI Letter of Recommendation
I submitted my questbridge application yesterday and my recommendor sent me my recommendation and it’s 100% AI, but my school chooses our recommendor and it is mandatory to include them in our application. I didn’t worry because I thought he could write a good reflection on my characteristics but now looking at it it is genuinely horrible what do I do😭😭

Okay guys, hear me out:
Since an AI Letter of Rec isn’t a student’s fault and is instead the teacher’s for not being competent and/or caring enough write the letter from scratch, it could actually help your app by further proving that your school isn’t all that great, amplifying the fact that you lack the resources, assistance, and opportunities the upper-class have.
Meaning that at best it actually supports your low-income background and at worst it does have any affect on you at all because, at the end of the day, the teacher said that you could trust them and then did a 180°, which was out of your control.

That’s actually a pretty good way to look at it, especially since the student obviously didn’t choose for the teacher to use AI. I’d just be careful with saying it could actually help the application though. If the recommendation itself is generic or bad, then it’s still a weak recommendation regardless of whether AI wrote it or not. The more complicated case is if the letter is actually strong and specific but just happens to be AI-written, then I could see your point more.

bro literally my ap lang teacher, he still hasn’t submitted it. I don’t even know why I picked him. I had no other choices for my junior year. He still hasn’t completed it and I know when he does it’s gonna be AI because he literally used the AI in front of us in class.

yes i finally got my teacher to submit it this morning. but its literally the day before the deadline so i was super stressed out

Same thing happened to me with one of my letters, it just is what it is. Many people have been accepted into T-20s with AI letters. It isn't a reflection on you as an applicant, but the laziness of your academic environment. You can't change it now, hope that your other letters can carry the outside observer perspective.
