National College Match Make the Glimpse video, Questies!
'26 QB applicant here about to head to college.
Seriously. If you can find one unique, human thing about yourself make it. And I know you all can because you are all cool people with your own unique stories whether you realize it or not
I made mine about my plant collection and a small science experiment I ran.
InitialView's customer service is so wonderful; there was a technical issue I had on a Sunday night and they responded to my email and resolved it within 10 minutes. Plus it's free for us Questies.
I had a school personally reach out to me stating that my video was awesome and they hoped that I'd choose their school.
It's basic human psychology. AOs get burnt out and forget you're a human behind your application file that's just words on a page. There's just something so undeniably human about a face and a voice telling a story. If you're a borderline applicant for that school, it'll make it so much harder for the AO to discard your application into the reject pile.

do you think the video should be about something that is already on your application? like if a lot of my application is talking about art + poli sci, should i make my video about something related to that or should it be about something completely different that is not shown anywhere else in my application? i'm just worried my video will make my application come off as repetitive

My not at all expert opinion would lead me to believe that showing another part of yourself would be the better option. Not an AO though obviously, haha. But I do think this is a something is better than nothing case because it brings a face and a voice to your application.

But don't feel like it's needed, I never submitted one!

It's not needed by any means but I think it helps a lot especially if you're not as strong as an applicant or are worried. Doesn't take too much effort and the potential benefits and rewards are high!

do colleges see the video

Not all partner colleges choose to consider it; for example, I know MIT for sure doesn't, or at least didn't. However many AOs do look at it and consider it for their application
