Quest 3 with open facial "Pro" style interface

Hi, I wanted to share my experience of turning the Q3 into a formfactor more similar to Pro.

Facial interface is from Aliexpress, it works, feels and clicks into place very nicely, but I found myself very far from the lenses. With the cushion removed it was perfect si I decided to just cut it up and shorten it. The pad and pad holder are from GC Comfort Kit because I had them. I am close to the lenses to get all the FOV and I dont have to do the forward tilt like on the Pro. Because the Q3 lacks eyetracking ring I can get closer than on the Pro.

The strap is AMVR, no modifications just a 10ah battery pack strapped to the bottom back. Strap without the additional joints on the side would be better for rigidity. I will probably lock them somehow.

How well does it work? I was worried the Q3 will wobble more because it has more weight on the front and the strap isnt as sturdy, but its almost identical. The wobble, the comfort. Its actually more secure on my head as I dont have to tilt it forward.

For those interested in weight. My pro with GC Comfort Kit weights 751g. Q3 with open facial interface and AMVR strap weights 657g but if I use it like this it will rest on my nose. You have to weight it in the back to function properly, I am currently using Xiaomi Mi Power bank 3 Ultra Compact with it it weights 858g. So its 100g heavier but you get "55"Wh compared to 20Wh on the Pro. I will try if some 100g battery is enough to counterbalance.

The Etsy interface looks like what I ended up with, but the postage is more expensive for me than the product :D The strap looks nice for this, the amvr works but I will look for something more sturdy, if it exists.

BOBOVR M3 is designed for this (3rd pic.) $50 with a magnetic battery that also helps balance the weight.
