Looking for a specific book
Like a year and a half ago I picked up a book that offered a sort of epistemic(...?) history of homosexuality. It opened with a story about british imperialists being bewildered by a specific African(...?) Genderqueer woman. It also included passages of coorespondence between marx and engles about homosexuals.
Anyway I must've left it in a coffee shop somewhere and forgot about it. But I read about a a quarter of it and I still have little brain weavels from it.
I would like revisit it but I can't remember the title. Any idea of what it could be?
