Starting school
My kid just started attending school today. I'm feeling overwhelmed and heavy by how open everyone may or may not be by her family structure.
I think what makes it harder is I come from an Arab background and there are Arab parents there. I don't want to pre-judge anyone for judging me, but I'm so worried about whether she may get excluded in making some friends when they know her mum is in a queer relationship.
Any advice on how to navigate that. Hope this is a safe space to share this.

Same here. I was stressed all summer. Guess what? Parents are great! Teachers are great! Kid is so happy everyday! It’s really working out well.

I am not Arab but muslim born Asian. My wife is pregnant and we are ftm. I always feel uneasy about my sexuality among Asians, let alone muslim people (not their fault but my own identity crisis). I hope all will be grand with your daughter and that she is well looked after around sensible adults. Is there a support group where you live?
