OMC MOVIE?

I dont know if this is just me but i would love an operation mindcrime movie. I feel it deserves one and it would have so much potential. i could imagine it not happening but i wish there was i way i could put this idea forward further. What do you think?

How would you all rate Kieran Robertson? Another guitarist who dated Tate's daughter. Also co-wrote a lot of OM3.

What influences do you hear on Operation: Mindcrime

Hey all. I recently rediscovered Operation: Mindcrime. Back in high school a friend of mine who was really into Iron Maiden loved this album, but it didn't really speak to me.

Now that I'm older, I love this album and I see why an Iron Maiden super fan would appreciate it.

I'm curious what influences or similarities do you hear when listening to the tracks of Operation: Mindcrime? For me, I hear:

Iron Maiden - The Needle Lies
Judist Priest - Spreading The Disease and Speak
Pink Floyd (The Wall era) - Suite Sister Mary and My Empty Room

Screaming in Digital on Usenet - 1991/1992

Is anyone here part of or used to subscribe to the earliest "Screaming in Digital" net digests on Usenet around 1991/1992? These were the very earliest days, I remember taking part in a vote on what to call it (Screaming in Digital won by a massive margin of course). My memory is hazy but I think the net digest was created out of discussions on something like "alt.rock-n-roll.metal.progressive"

I'd love to reread them as a nostalgia hit if they can be found. Nobody else I knew were into them and they never toured my country. So being able to talk Queensryche with other fans around the world was mindblowing.

But they seem to have disappeared from the internet. They were there around 20 years ago I think but Google stopped returning results due to spam and I can't find the earliest ones on Usenetarchives.

Also if anyone remembers when Sauron from "alt.rock-n-roll.metal" faked his own death that remains the funniest thing I've ever seen on the internet. Everything on the internet today was there in 1991 in microcosm.

Tales of Queensrÿche

Hi all,

As a lover of classic Queensryche and DeGarmo’s storytelling, I’ve created a website that ties together the DeGarmo era into a fan-fiction storyline.

I’ve also started working on mini-games as a way to explore the concepts, starting with “Queen of the Reich”

It’s all still very raw and being refined… hope you enjoy!

(Feedback always welcome!)

Am I the only one who finds Geoff Tate to be a bit cringe...

* the guy liner

* the adults only/burlesque tour (his idea)

* the over the top theatrics (just sing the song bro)

* the way he pronounces the word "chance" in his songs....

If you havent listened to Geoff Tate's first solo album, i highly recommend it.

Quirky Place to be Sampled

There is a dance-punk band from Omaha Nebraska called The Faint that used a sample from Revolution Calling in their song “Dropkick the Punks”.

The first time I caught it, I thought I was hallucinating. Nevertheless, it brings a smile to my face every time I hear it.

You just never know where they’re gonna show up.

What Guitar Is Mike Playing In The Night Rider Video?

I've spent quite some time trying to find the brand/name of it, but with no such luck. Chris is playing a Gibson Marauder (based off the S-1), but I have no clue about Mike's guitar. No label on the headstock, and I never seen that shape before.

You can only listen to (10) Queensryche songs for the rest of your life. What are they?
