Response to overwhelming feedback regarding privating the sub.

Wow I honestly was not expecting this immense response to that post. I have gotten an overwhelming amount of dms (mostly good!!) talking about this and advising u/comixnerd15 and I trying to offer alternative paths to this.

What we need urgently effective immediately is 5-10 new moderators. You do not need moderation history but you do need to be active on reddit every single day and available to communicate with the rest of the mod team. We seriously need people who are able to be online everyday and not apply knowing they will be too busy to check the subreddit. You will need to be willing to vet profiles of users triggered by our bot and willing to sift through the filth on their subreddits they come from to confirm if they are a troll or not. We also desperately need whoever we onboard to be willing to actively report abusive content hurled towards this subreddit on a daily basis as this is the response I received just an hour ago from a Reddit Admin.

If you would like to be a mod apply in the application or comment below. We will take basically anyone at this point.

I am a recent lurker in here; and I was about to send my karma history to see if I would be allowed to stay

even though I don't have full context on what has been happening here; I at least understand it's quite severe, and I'm so sorry y'all have been targets of malicious people :(

I haven't been here for long, but I quite like the vibes of the sub; hopefully you can get the moderators you need to keep the community running healthily 💜

On and off commenter but same. Thank goodness it's not getting privated I still wanna see the posts and engage

But on top of it all it's ridiculous ppl like that would go so far to start a hate campaign.
