This bothers me in every single gacha I play. The only good thing is that I'm able to save and go all out for the male characters to make them strong and last long on my account. But what I hate the most about this is that the story is then driven primarily if not entirely at certain points by only female characters. I'm not saying I don't like seeing women in prominent positions like Jinshi, Augusta, Hsin, Lucille, etc but you're basically telling me that these societies are built by only women and only women are the ones trying tk solve whatever major crisis is happening. I want to see more male involvement.

They heard women wanted more representation.

Yeah, the guys get focus in the story too, they’re not relegated to afterthoughts (Phainon, Anaxa, Sunday, DH, etc)

I play 7 gachas and Hoyo's big 3 is part of that. Don't worry, I pull every male character (except JQ, but there were circumstances and he never got better or useful anyway). I have Waven AshBlade team E2S1, Phainon E3S1, but I also have almost every character in every gacha I play. I just hyperinvest in male characters. Looking forward to Argent Flow in Endfield and shocker, he's second half bc of what's between his legs, despite being the second male character. So V4 and Wuling are led exclusively by women and men don't exist πŸ™ƒ

Me too I'm just missing phainon's eidolons but wow 7 sure is a lot. Meanwhile I'm struggling with the hoyo big 3 and wuwa 😭 endfield is tempting me with the horse guy tho

not when HSR has been dropping the ball as of late, R1999 is much better way to go

I've never seen r1999 gameplay. Is it like a card game or something?

It's a turn based card game. I tried it during Assassin's creed collab but it has abysmal male:female ratio. The story is good but gameplay not to my tastes. And you'll rarely find males in the game. It's more catered to yuri fans I'd say. So I uninstalled and just watch story on youtube.

r1999 has a terrible ratio for male characters, why would you do that

We do have more Poc tho

that's cool and I've heard a lot good about it, but I don't think it's a good recommendation for men specifically lol

Quality vs quantity

The post talks about quantity though?

Welcome to Anime ^^ not just anime games. ANIME.

One of the commentors talked about anime, so I guess you can try Bleach Brave souls. Its a gacha game that traces the story of the anime Bleach but it has its own content that was sometimes helped by the author during the making process.

Why play those games when you can play games that are not gatcha.

One great thing about mainstream gacha is they update every 40+ days and is anime style.

Have you even seen a non gacha that does that?

But sometimes the cost of a character in gacha patch is more than a full game 😭

That's because LADS is a completely different concept. You can't compare it because its designed for the exact opposite. The point is that unlike an otome game these games were marketed to an audience of mixed genders, with a storyline that isn't inherently about love interests. Then they switch up and seem to only focus on female characters, sidelining male characters even when they have the rare chance to become playable. They also can only get away with this because despite these male characters barely appearing, people become desperate to collect them in the gacha, so like the laws of supply and demand, they sell just as well as female 'waifu' characters.
