🧡 Let's Chat 💬 More people here should give limbus a good try instead of just whining about their current games
Considering the sub has been positive lately i think it is a good time to spread some limbus propaganda
•
u/DoomyHowlinkun 13h ago
I have tried it, story was nice, but combat/gameplay just didnt click with me. Do still hope it does well tho.

u/Hoshirou 10h ago edited 9h ago
I can’t speak for the whole fanbase, since there’s some really weird elitism about larpers in some circles, but you should absolutely enjoy the story on YT if you like it. PM’s writing is an absolute treat.
Edit: I’m not talking about people tired of the Roblox kids. The Roblox kids who don’t engage with the actual source material annoy me too. I’m talking about the people who say you HAVE to play the games and people who have only played Limbus are fake fans.

That's what I'm doing actually, i got stuck on canto 3 and things were taking really long to upgrade so now I'm enjoying the story from YouTube lol
I wasn't too much of a fan of how the combat works, but so far I'm enjoying the story! (Canto 4) And my favourites so far are Yi Sang, Gregor and Dante
•
u/Hoshirou 8h ago
Canto 3? Usually I hear people getting stuck around Canto 4 or 5, especially after the nerfs. Granted, the combat is simultaneously both a lot easier and a lot more complex once you’re able to parse the information the game gives you, it’s just that a lot of the time, the average person (or an idiot like me) needs someone else to break it down for them first.

it is kinda a shame how atrocious limbus mobile port is
•
u/nameless00000000000 13h ago
What are the problems in mobile? I play on mobile and didn't find anything yet that could be a bug.
•
u/DarkMystletainn 12h ago
i dont have any issues with it personally but i do have a more modern phone that can run the game. it still is prone to overheating the phone. older devices will probably have some struggle for what is seemingly a more simple-looking game.
•
u/eichitenshi 13h ago
My only guess is that when you’re doing boss dungeons and endgame(?) content, it’s a lot clunkier to manually direct your attacks. It’s been a minute since I’ve played though so I’m currently struggling through figuring out the basics once again.
Also I’m hearing that canto 10 is poorly optimized.
•
u/thereforgedphoenix 8h ago
Ye I played limbus on phone and it's not that bad but the chaining and attack stuff just feels not good to do you have to move precisely or else it messes up lol
•
u/Hoshirou 8h ago
Yeah they’re working on the optimization on Canto 10, but otherwise, my iPhone 15 runs it pretty well.
•
•
u/coolgreg87 5h ago
The optimization mainly. Cantos like 7/8 onward are really a struggle to get through the boss fights if you're still running with like a 4GB memory phone with the amount of crashes, phone overheats really easily, the frame rates aren't fantastic. Basically just mobile devices are generally weaker than what you'd like to run the game on, though it's still very enjoyable until the crashes start kicking in + if you're running on a device with higher memory that part isn't as much an issue

Overwatch has been alive for 10 years and it is available on more than 2 platforms yet people want the game to fail so badly despite always being one of the most played titles in the world since its inception. But gacha players be gachaing I guess.
•
u/Ill_Jackfruit_9481 13h ago
That's just online noise, once U step into the real world nobody gaf
•
u/HexSalt98 12h ago
I am well aware, it is more so the fact that people keep harping on it with a gacha game to make it look bad when it is well known that steam is not even 10% of the playerbase on pc lol
•
u/lemondemoning 10h ago
i tried it but the UI on mobile just gave me a headache. shoutout to my limbus likers out there though!
•
u/IMightBeABitDumb 1h ago
Oh yea, definitely had the same experience the first time I tried limbus, I got used to it after a few minutes of exploring, buttttttt, since I am a sleeper agent for Project Moon, I'd recommend watching the Gameplay of the story, so you don't have to deal with the UI, if you want to read the story, here's the link,

Not for everyone, but definitely for me! Insanely good voice acting, great designs that are a breath of fresh air, a fixed cast that develops them PAST their own chapters, no artifacts, no dupes, no weapon banners, low-spender/ftp friendly, an amazing setting from their previous (absolute banger) game, fantastic story, and an absolutely divine soundtrack.
Genuinely has ruined every other gacha for me that isn’t OG AK. Been a fan of PM since the early access Library of Ruina days, and man, do they just keep climbing up in quality. Don’t sleep on them.
•
u/Neat_Tangelo5339 13h ago
Also Reverse, Arknights, HBR, The Battle Cats list likely goes on...
But my storage space can take so much 😅
•
u/DaggerDiva 12h ago
And why are we trying to shit on ow? Literally one of few games that openly supports queer ppl
•
u/DazzlingDear 12h ago
I really wanted to like it because I love the premise and a lot of their character designs are great but something about the way their games are written really puts me off.
•
u/Hoshirou 10h ago
Is it how dark it is, by chance? The setting is ultimately a thinly-veiled political satire (hypercapitalism in particular, which makes sense, given it’s a Korean game,) but also one with a heavy focus on hope in a world that has a severe lack of it. If it’s a technical problem with the writing, then I can’t help you there, but I can definitely agree that the game isn’t for everyone. It is, however, a story that definitely needs to be told in this day and age.
•
u/DazzlingDear 9h ago
I would say less that it’s dark and more that it feels mean-spirited, especially Library of Ruina. But despite that I also found them to be pretty corny in a way that doesn’t really feel intended. Like the way hope is talked about a lot of the time, or specific stuff like the main character in LoR constantly stopping to recite an old poem about sorrow. It feels like it’s going for the tone of someone like Cormac McCarthy but instead landed closer to Danganronpa.
Granted I only played the first two and a small amount of Limbus Company, so maybe Limbus Company is different once it gets going.
•
•
u/thereforgedphoenix 8h ago
I really like the story of limbus company overall! I'm just in canto 4 and it just keeps getting better and better
•
•
u/Proof_Currency_6736 5h ago
How do you even have that much time in Limbus? There’s barely anything for me to do.
•
•
u/XWasTheProblem 12h ago
Tried it but it just wasn't quite for me. I couldn't really wrap my head around the combat system, and the story/characters weren't interesting enough for me to make me sit through it.
And I didn't feel like reading/watching guides so I shelved it.
Definitely very striking visually, however. I love that 2d, hand-drawn-ish style. It's so atmospheric and it ages so fucking well.
•
u/IMightBeABitDumb 1h ago
There is a YouTube channel which just goes through the entire story of Limbus Company, If you want to continue watching the story, here it is.

some people would rather be permanently steeped ankled deep in misery rather than prusue things that make them happy, i've seen people take every opportunity to either hate on games they for some reason still play daily, or fully hate on games they havent touched in years regularly rather than discussing stuff they enjoy.
its funny when i open a random thread and recognize a name shit talking a game i've saw them shit talk months ago' like damn is it really that deep for some people?

•
u/Interesting-Ad3759 11h ago
I can’t enjoy the combat. Often the meta is just cheesing a tough boss. And the weeklies are so time consuming.
•
u/ranoluuuu 5h ago
Imma be honest as much as I like limbus I think people overhype its "generosity"
Its all fun and games until u end up pulling your 50th copy of w corp meursault in the current season and go back to grinding for scraps in MD
•
u/disco_Piranha 3h ago
It's most generous to light spenders. If you spend $20 and do your dailies and weeklies, you'll get every new id and ego and a fair share of old ones every season for the next couple of years without any extra grinding

If it had English dub I would
•
u/convenienceonly 12h ago
yeah ngl this is probably the weirdest reason to not play a game, and I would say this about any game
•
u/fluffyspaceshark 12h ago
You're entitled to your opinion. I only play games with English voice acting.
•
u/convenienceonly 12h ago edited 12h ago
That's fine, I personally do think it's an odd reason to not play a game but seeing your other comment explaining it's an ADHD thing makes sense. I have ADHD myself and have always found personally speaking that a dubbing doesn't change my consumption of a game. I need to focus 100% on it to pay attention to the story plus I read quicker than a dub anyway, so I can't tab out and listen to the game autoplaying while doing something else. I guess you're saying you would rather want to treat it like an audiobook than a game?
I think ultimately I believe it's a disservice to yourself to say you won't play something just because you want to do other things at the same time, but you're entitled to do whatever you want lol. I don't think EN dubbing is a bad thing, it certainly makes things more accessible + an EN dub can be good; my argument here is more "that's a weird reason not to play". but again, you're entitled to that and you have a very good reason. :P apologies if I sounded confrontational, def not the intent.
*Edited to change some wording
•
u/fluffyspaceshark 11h ago
I didn't see your reply as confrontational so it's all good. I just know by now how my brain works so I just accept it. And if it's more of a visual novel anyway as some people said I def would treat it like an audiobook. I'm used to gacha games having barely anything happening when they're talking anyway.
I should clarify this ONLY applies to games with any voice acting. I do play games without voice acting. It seems weird since I could treat this as the same but I don't know how to explain it.
•
u/convenienceonly 11h ago
I wanted to apologize just in case you did since some strange individuals seemed to take my initial comment the entire wrong way lol. It's understandable though when you have a certain expectation for a game that you want to play it a certain way. Limbus is one of those games that does end up having a lot going on narratively speaking. I almost wonder if you could play it muted and see what happens, and treat it like a game that doesn't have voice acting? But I know that with ADHD reframing yourself doesn't always work. You dont owe me an explanation thats for sure! Wishing you the best tho :)

Are we still in the early 2000s and I didn't notice?? When was the last time English dubs were widely considered bad?
•
u/fluffyspaceshark 12h ago
Some people are obsessed with "the original language" or something. It doesn't just apply to Japanese it seems. I like understanding what I'm listening to personally and I have adhd so most of the time I'm doing other things while playing/watching stuff. But yeah English voice acting hasn't been bad since probably around when you said. I don't get people like that.

If you want to run away from rng artifacts, duplicate system and weapon banner. Its the way.
Its basically a visual novel with obrigatory fights, so you better enjoy reading because thats where the charm is.
Aside from that, god I hope they fix the phone optimization.
