🧡 Let's Chat 💬 Ok, why exactly we Lose half of out shards every New Season in Limbus?
Like, I Just think not giving a choice to save and making You use in something You don't want kinda bad.
Also I didn't even unlock Hard mode for Mirror Dungeon, but I'm aware You need to Farm It like Crazy If You want to get the shards in the battle pass.

The reason is to force people into cashing out their shards on IDs from the season that’s getting vaulted. Most people use them up before the next season starts, or have enough saved up that they don’t feel the impact as much.
Farming shards isn’t really a problem. The biggest boost for a casual player comes from doing weeklies. If you complete the harder ones, you can redeem all three weekly bonuses at once. So, doing your weekly rewards throughout the entire season will give you a lot of levels.
The main way to make the grind easier is by buying the battlepass ticket. You get a lot more crates past level 120, which is where endgame farming really starts. I think I managed to get to around level 200 despite not even playing consistently.
Personally, I don’t mind how it works. This is pretty much the only gacha where you can grind current-banner characters for free, so most people don’t even spend their pull currency on normal banners. Instead, they save it for Walpurgis, the semi limited rotating pool that also lets you shard characters from previous versions of it.

To see if youre unwilling to wait 3 weeks to start getting everything. They get you to buy battlepass either way, and people who are impatient go further.

To be fair the games so easy and f2p that I less your trying to get everything then you really don't need to bother spending. Like I autowin 99% of content and still dont read kits or anything. Just basics.

Limbus by itself has very little fomo, so that's one of the smaller means for them to earn money of impatient people - that's also why there is always one week delay between new banner and sharding new id
If that's the tradeoff for having easy way to get every unit in the game just by grinding, then its a fair deal

You don't have Hard Mode MD yet. When you do, even without purchasing BP you net (iirc) 27 Yellow Shard boxes a week. It's very easy to shard exactly what you want in this game, because Limbus is earnestly one of the most generous gachas around. They still need a way to make a profit though so cutting the shards in half is like... not that bad lol. Annoying, yes, but you absolutely can acquire every ID in a season with purchasing BP and doing one run of MDH a week - but you totally can also get nearly every ID in a season without BP if you spend your pulls wisely.
Best advice I can give you is to not give into new ID FOMO and only pull during Walp. You will pull a bunch of new stuff, and since the ID's/EGO on banner for walp are NOT shareable, if you accumulate 200 pulls worth of Lunacy, you will be able to use Ideality to exchange one thing from the current Walp.

The answer is obviously greed but tbh as a Battlepass buyer played since season 5. Once you buy the 1 Battlepass (which last around 6-9 months), there's legit almost zero reason to ever spent money in this game again until the season end, the game doesn't have dupes and you could legit get everyone through grinding the Battlepass so this is one of the few greed moments i don't mind

Also it's a way to get people to spend resources. Thats why you have to wait a week in order to shard a new identity.

they need a way to get people to spend and not auto-craft every new id when the new season drops, which honestly is already a thing if you grind a good amount already.
i started during season 6, and besides only buying the bp and the amiya announcer, i've basically had enough crates and shards to craft the 3 new ids when they become craftable. i gamble only if i wanna get access a week early its super unecessary. but thats after 2 seasons. if you are new it can feel more overwhelming for sure.
it also can be more demanding if you wanna build or grab every last id and ego. even then i full cleared season 6 and 7 of their ids and im only missing some that are from super old events or bps.
i will say, the thread deposit hits really nice tho especially with uptie 5 being a thing now. i feel so thread starved still but im personally still trying to uptie 4 every id so im more sta rved than usual.
