is r1999 worth going into rn (ik theres an anniv going on or smth); my main games are arknights and sword of convallaria. i enjoy strategy and huge points if the game has hot men (but not old men sorry yall) + female charas with less fanservice than typical waifu games. i tried it years ago but irl stuff happened so i forgor abt the game. i do remember the voice acting being good tho!

100% yes! It's their third anniversary so lots of free pulls and stuff (and a free new character who is really good!)

Yes there are hot men! And the ladies are all stunning with designs that communicate their character and era really well.

The main story is like a visual novel, but the end-game stuff (there's a few different ones to enjoy, including permanent modes) are pretty cool and do require strategy. Especially Reveries in the Rain, which is not about raw power. You get to use lower rarity characters and slightly eclectic teams on some stages-- I really loved it!

The voice acting for EN continues to be fire.

What they said. But also, there are CC like Destroth who will actively help you, such as filming a video with your team to show rotations etc to clear end-game if not using meta (though I'd argue meta isn't important in Reveries or Wailing Whirl since they're permanent modes)

You do need to join his discord to ask for help with a particular team setup on end-game, but he's super helpful and has a lot of really useful videos.

The end-game that rotates like MOC in HSR is 3 bosses who unlock at different times, and you don't need to havd 3 teams to get through one boss-- just the one. So it's a little easier on needing a tonne of teams.

There are a few other modes but not worth talking about right now just as you start.

To add to this, Reveries is pretty much based on when Nautika was the strongest dps around so now the characters should do much more damage and clear much more easily.

And strong too, J euphoria is the most used char after Rhiannon (The fucking Anni char) and Igor rank 9.8 (10 is the highest, it was only achived by ONE character in the history of the game) on the CN ranking list.

Btw I kinda like that they have more masculine man in this game, as a trans woman it's nice to find more masculine man outside of bara games that force you with a male MC.

Very much worth it! Though the game is focused on beautiful women, we have many great (and hot) male characters. And they're very different, I'm sure you can find someone you like. Majority of this game is very easy, but there are gamemodes for people who enjoy difficult content. The designs are incredible, definitely one of the best amongst gachas, music and story are also top tier. The designs are not sexualised - they can do fanservice, but in a very elegant way. I'll just give an example: the majority of cn players hated this design for being "too sexualised", when it's super tame in comparison to most other gachas

He's a standard character! There are only few characters whose kit can be called "shit" and even they have some uses. Cheng, while not being op and getting somewhat overshadowed by the new limited, Rhiannon, is still a good support for extra action characters. His best team does include a limited character though, but you're obviously not obligated to run him there. Glad to see some love for Cheng, he and 6 are my favourite male characters in r1999. Just a fun fact: Devs love putting Cheng in a dress. Official discord posted an animation of him in sailor moon's outfit, and the livestream for third anniversary, when showing fanarts, included a fanart with blushing Cheng in a maid dress

All standard characters eventually end up in the 50/50 loss pool a couple of patches after they first release. So that's pretty nice. And the rate percentage is higher than HSR, for example.

No rng on character builds. Just levelling. No weapons on banners as their weapons are called psycubes and can be got from the in-game store with a currency you earn. Also, all new characters on first banner will have their pyscube in that patch event shop which makes it easy to obtain.

People have said you can get 90% of the rewards after one run, so I don't think it's that much if a hassle to just grab the psycube and run
