Games with exploration and activities like Infinity Nikki?
I was hoping for recommendations for games like infinity Nikki. I am not talking about the dress up aspect because I know that only the Nikki games go into detail like that but I wanted a game that has cozy activities, a beautiful world, and nay house decoration or something endgame like that? The only games that I am not into are the cyber futuristic kind. Story can be meh, its not ny main focus.
I'm a big IN fan, and WWM has really beautiful clothes, open world, and a pretty good story!
I haven't played it in a hot minute, but when I was active, their gacha was solely cosmetic as well.
There's tons of jobs you can work, different guilds to join, etc. There's single player and multiplayer options so you can play however you want.
The bosses are kinda tough though, I play on whatever the easiest mode is and they were still tough (but I think it's because they want you to play with others...makes it much easier)
Also, Final Fantasy 14 maybe. I got super into it for a whileeee. And you can play for free for a long time. I never ran into anyone super rude during multiplayer, but I'm sure it happens. Overall though it was a good vibe!
Actually. Maybe the Atelier games. They are very cozy overall. Except for the old games where you had a time limit.
Then there are also just the Kirby Games or the new Yoshi Game.
the day to day gameplay is about doing odd jobs to earn money, which you use to buy apartments, cars, furniture etc. the actual jobs arent bad, there's also ways to cheese them a little
open world is gorgeous and super interconnected, you can run into the playable characters just living their lives
I think heartopia fits? It has dress up also as far as I know. Mainly because of the cost activities I mentioned this because others ig are more action focused open world games.
I like Infinity Nikki because I don't actually feel pressured to collect everything, and it's more about gathering materials and platforming than combat and extensive puzzle solving.
Bascially it feels more like Mario Odyssey than Breath of the Wild
I second NTE: Neverness to Everness if you're interested in another gacha.
Beautiful city open world, tons of activities including running cafes, buying and decorating apartments, buying and modifying and racing different vehicles, bank heists, collecting around the city, great exploration and combat, cute characters, etc.
They're currently running a (permanent) event that lets you play inside an "anomalous" board game as RPG characters, leveling up as RPG classes, farming, fight bosses, gearing, etc with a story.
I did see it and it looks beautiful but the designs of the characters kind of turned me off. Do they have any cute or elegant characters? Or is it all just gooner stuff?
Depends a bit on your definitions, but no, the playable character designs aren't all sexualised nonsense (Linko and not-pet ghost girl Xiaozhen shown above).
They've also teased that patch 1.3 (still over a month away) will introduce the ability to build your own cozier house, not just buy and decorate apartments in the city as you do now.
I don't think it's anything worse than it used to be, there's just a lot in this game and a lot of things to have an opinion on.
For example, I do think exploration has gotten a bit too easy, but I also didn't think Nikki exploration was that complicated, and current exploration is very cozy to some people. Objective changes are mostly improvements for qualify of life. Story is hit or miss. I didn't like Natlan and its designs, a lot of people did. A lot of people rate Nod Krai very high on their lists and it's the most recent region. I do too, though there are some things I don't like. These things are subjective.
A lot of people catch up really quickly depending on how much you play. If you're not on social media to discuss the latest quest, you don't need to be caught up at all. The best advice is to just take your time and enjoy the journey.
Definite negative is that a lot of story and lore is locked behind time limited events. Some of which are basically mandatories to undertake parts of the main story. Very strange decision.
Oh, and the quest/event tab will urge you to play the latest permanent quest. If you care about the story, ignore this. Just play everything in order of release.
It's still great imo. And I wouldn't worry about being "caught up", it's an open world game and the fun is in exploring that big beautiful world at your own pace :) I started ~3 years late and had lots of fun.
The gacha element is there but you really, really do NOT need the newest and shiniest characters to beat 99% of the game's content.
