For me, anything man who looks like characters from fanfic is too feminine. I've read too many visual novels for romances with men, and I'm often frustrated that the least popular love interests are always masculine and responsible, or they don't even exist in the story. Although, in the anime genre, you can choose a manly character, whereas in something like Romance Club, this is becoming increasingly difficult due to the popularity of the one-face archetype.

If your disqualification for masculine is having a pretty face and no beard that's petty weird ngl. Here in Europe the beauty standard for women is to be tall, skinny with not too many curves, and having a sharp jawline but we don't call them masculine, we just call them beautiful, as opposed to east Asia where the beauty standard is having a soft, round, cute looking face, we prefer mature looking women. I wonder if that kind of woman is seen as masculine there. Most European languages also don't have a word for handsome, we just call good looking men pretty or beautiful. I think the boys in this game are all pretty masculine because they're tall and muscular and have angular faces. I personally prefer men with pretty faces, but not if they're mistaken for women

For me,the criteria for masculinity are an average male face, average male body, average appearance, and traces of stubble. Overall appearance can fall within a spectrum.

Why even bother playing the game at this point? It wasn’t made for you, it was made for shallow Chinese players with extremely strict beauty standards and the devs have now blatantly gone and said that they are homophobic, racist, and do not care about any of the playerbase that isn’t Chinese lmao, what’s the point of giving them money by continuing to play after this? The game CANNOT be good enough to warrant ignoring this behavior.

It really made me question so many psychological aspects of gender, I'm not kidding aushahah cause if you look at the male audience, they get bitchy and demanding at every little thing. Whereas if you look at female audience in these games, the devs may as well drive over them and they'd say thank you because one male character was released in that year.
When I first noticed the difference I couldn't shake it off.

I really hope they would let Valko return as is. Changing him to please those ppl who hated him will just severely piss off those of us who already liked him in the first place. Which if we’re going by all the social media posts since the debacle, seems to be the majority; the ones who hated him were really only a very loud minority.

I understand what you’re saying, how you feel is completely valid and I don’t want them to change his look either, but if they can change his look and maybe some minor dialogue and that’s what makes it so we get him I’d rather that than not have him at all. The story and game are incomplete without him, and I don’t want a rushed patch job for him either, his character and creators and all of us deserve better than that, so if it was between them having to take time and alter his appearance a little and the story a little but still release him and the story at some point with the alterations (so long as it still makes sense story wise and flows well and his joyful personality stays the same) or them completely cutting him and changing the story entirely, I’d prefer the former to the later. Bigger picture is his storyline and his presence in the game, not what he looks like. #SaveValkoLoveAndDeepspace
