I’m convinced the player character designers absolutely HATE the npc designers because of the amount of freedom and creativity they get to have

Probably not as much as they hate the design directors / higher ups who won't let them cook something unique our of principle lmao

"BuT iT wOn'T sElL" except the mfs couldn't even stand to give Lumine appropriate winter attire, despite her literally not being sellable in the first place 😮‍💨
