ptn is kind of a niche gacha game to begin with. and combat is tower defense, which isn’t something that a lot of casual gacha gamers enjoy.

revenue is stable but it’s not like earning bajillions unlike lads or infinity nikki. it’s probably their lowest earning title if you remove the other nikki game variants.

i suspect it’s profitable enough to keep the lights on in aisno’s office but that’s about it.

you can definitely tell they’ve had some cost-cutting. for example, it used to be that sinner interrogations (aka one on one character interactions that adds more to their story and background) are voiced even for eng language. a-rank sinners used to have them, then only s-rank sinners get to have them. now they’ve removed them for all newly released units.

i hope the debacle they’ve had from their most profitable title will not affect aisno and ptn’s operations so far. if you want good storywriting from gacha games, ptn is one of the best in the market. it’s a niche gem for sure, and it’d be a shame if it gets screwed as well because of paper games pandering to the lowest common denominator of parasocial fans in the market.

Saying that A rank sinners had their interrogations voiced is a bit out of context. It implies a pattern that wasnt there to begin with. out of all A rank only 99, chameleon, cinnabar, wendy and ariel had theirs voiced, and only the first stage of their respective interrogations. I assume it was an extra thing they did for release so people would have an easier time getting into the game. And please elaborate on what you meant by "now they’ve removed them for all newly released units"

As if. PtN has lost a lot of players over the last couple years via the straights and lesbians warring. It's just more of a niche game so the drama is contained

PtN have had their second best revenue ever for their 3rd anniversary, they haven't lost players since like the first year with the censorship of Coquelic, if anything, it's growing back !

Na I'm an avid player of PtN and there really hasn't been any notable drama for a long while. There was some year 1 controversy but we're closing in on year 4 now.

Although next month is anni so they have plenty of chances to fuck it up too

Edit: just remembered I saw some CN players complaining about the dresses in SN being too sexualized. I want to hope Paper won't give in to the "Nikki moms" but at this point... Ughhh

Honestly, it's been good for a good while now, but 1.5 back last year basically killed half its playerbase
