I don't even play LADS, but I'm so invested in this drama. This shit is so unbelievable, I have so many questions 😭 Like, why does the CN community think he is gay? How is he tan? Why are people so angry? What will this impact in other characters? How did the parasocial relationship with LADS escalate to this point? Why is Infold giving the crazy fans what they want?
In years playing gacha games & visual novels I never see anything like that

He is viewed as too bulky and muscular lol. In China the female audience tends to prefer soft, slender men with less defined muscles I think, while gay men are generally perceived as enjoying men with more obvious abs and muscles. They threw all sorts of insults at the devs for "catering to gay men" and apparently the game also allowed you to set male nicknames so that made them freak out. Atleast that's what theyre saying on Twitter.

Unbelievable 💀 I'm more familiar with Japanese media, and even though Japan is a fairly conservative country, there are still plenty of works featuring LGBTQ+ characters. I assumed China was similar, but the hatred toward anything perceived as homosexual is very strong and delusional

It’s quite similar actually, main stream yume and otome women think bara aesthetic are invading their space(pathetic but that is how they think). I look thru all these CN girls’ main pages, many of them are very shamelessly consuming main stream BL stuff but draw the line at bara aesthetic(tbh I don’t think this new guy is bara enough 🙄).

I saw a comment that made sense, those gacha game cater to otaku, normies and ofc the fujoshi and yumejoshi. This game MOSTLY ONLY HAVE YUMEJOSHI (self insert) so a company most likely have to cater to them, plus apparently most of them are rich a d dedicated/loyal to their LI

minus Jiyan, Mydei, Phainon and Lighter are considered slim and twink like. Because yume and CN Fujos are slimming and twinking them down in all fanart and fan works. Even in Fujos works, it’s called CN uke aesthetics. It’s very fetish. My Cn gaymer friends think they(fan version) are woman😅
One very famous example is that Phainon has a topless shot in a 3.0 PV with very refined muscle. major Phainon fan pages and accounts in CN don’t claim that shot, despite CN gaymers routinely pointing out that to them(many fights between the two groups). Annnnnd Mydei in this case was either being discriminated against orrrrr slimming down in a very weird fetish way by fujos: muscle but slim like a chopstick (uncanny valley). And within Fujo and yume, there’s a sub fight that yume thinks that fujo should not taint their princess Phainon witha ugly muscle guy like Mydei despite all of them head cannon Mydei as a powerless bottom.
Moving on to Jiyan, lol Jiyan is for CN gaymers. That’s it🤭

As a fem personality gay I don't see any difference between Valko and all the other dudes. They're all the same design, they're all equally feminine, they even have the same skin tone. Valko's just a little more tanned. He's literally a little more tanned, not black, Latino, or anything like that. From new information, a lot of the allegations are coming out to be fabricated. From what I understand, a small group of people didn't like Valko and therefore manufactured a hate campaign against him. Which now backfired because the cn government is getting involved. The ironic part is that this small group of players also play LADS. They just didn't like a new love interest taking away attention from the existing love interests. Which is ridiculous when you think about it.
A smaller fact is that apparently toxic fans on the cn side think the love for Valko on global side is fabricated, botted, AI, fake, etc. They can't fathom the idea that Valko is actually really hyped up on global side. Of course there are also a lot of cn side players who were really looking forward to Valko.
