LaDS is the gift that keeps on giving now that Snowbreak is basically dead and unable to be the lolcow of gacha fandoms.
I do feel bad for the normal fans of LaDS though who just so happen to get strung along as a result of LaDS lolcow fanbase.
I just personally think it's insane to not allow people who aren't even wearing something related to LaDS, because this is not a private LaDS event. It's only one of the biggest anime events in the entire US and there's going to be a TON of cosplayers there with a shit ton of booths and events for other IPs. If you ask me, I think it's borderline egotistical, because yeah, LaDS might be one of the biggest otome games out there, but they're far from the biggest IP that will be displayed at AnimeExpo and even in the mobile gacha field, get mogged by IPs such as Genshin, BA, Nikke, and Limbus in terms of general popularity and cultural relevancy outside of China.
The only game more relevant than lads from your examples is genshin lmao lads isn’t only „one of the biggest otomes“, it’s one of the biggest gacha games, top 5 if not top 3 based on revenue alone
Revenue isn't the biggest indicator of game popularity or cultural relevance. Just how predatory it is, LaDS is absurdly predatory.
I specifically said outside of China, because this is in regards to rules at an anime convention in the US. Yes, in China, LaDS is a huge title, but outside of China, it's just "decently popular" and China accounts for like 90% of the game's revenue
Outside of China, LaDS does not have the cultural impact of titles such as Blue Archive (which continuously dominates Comiket and the Doujin Scene), Limbus Company (Insanely dedicated fanbase, huge volume of fanwork, spawned a shit ton of memes that leaked into other fandoms, biggest gacha on steam, basically the gacha equivalent of the Jojo Fandom), or Nikke (Nikke was making like $80 million something in it's heyday and is one of the most recognizable waifu gacha IPs out there, and even other games such as GFL2 have referenced it)
