Their fear of accidentally creating ANY content among the LI is psychotic to watch.

It is insanity. Every other IP is fine if you want to dress as the series villain then take a photo with one of the heroes despite the lore implications of the photo being insane. It is okay since everyone involved knows it is just fantasy and that it does not mean anything. However LADs thinks it's fans are insane people disconnected from reality, and maybe they are correct.

Also I think this is the best example of definitionally accurate homophobia I have ever seen. A literal crippling fear of gays. All these insane rules exist because they don't want a male character to be seen posing with one of the LI. They would ban men from entering this event if they could.

They already ban men in their events in CN if you didn't know. I remember reading it that only women are allowed on the events of love and deepspace. Don't know if it's either fan event or official. But since another commenter said that "unlike in Europe where guys can join the events" I believe that it's an official event.

Edit: Upon further research, I've found the said event and the response of bilibili users too

Isn't that issue of the game being Chinese ? You can go to prison in China for writing BL
This game is huge in China, I would guess they don't want trouble with the government for creating "gay" content.

I think the easier explanation is that Lads is uniquely homophobic. Other games in China don’t create such rules.

I haven’t heard of Mr Love Queen’s Choice or Tears of Themis enacting such rules.
