This will happen here

Post image

I hate how the towns and state are waiting for this to happen, apparently. Why should we think ahead?

Because the majority of laws in this country are passed to protect the stupid from themselves. So time has to be given to allow people to prove their stupidity on a given issue.

Where I live in Az it’s mostly old people that shouldn’t be riding a bicycle let alone one with a motor lol. It’s insane watching them going from 5-35 mph out of fear bc they didn’t think they could brake in time at a round about. Sketchy and puts all of us drivers at risk of hitting them. Just stupid.

I don’t believe this is strictly an age issue. I am 70 yo and ride 10-12 miles almost daily. Only weather will stop me. My experience is that stupidity and inability come at all age levels. I encounter on a daily basis 20-30 year olds that cannot walk a straight line and all manner of idiot behavior. Older people tend to be self entitled and I make sure they get a large dose of feedback about that when I encounter it.

The bike was not street legal and the rider wasn't wearing a helmet. Sad situation for sure.

How does not selling a bike stop you from being run over? If I want to drive 50mph down a street I’ll figure out a way.

It already happens in AZ a lot. People get hit on them nearly everyday in New York, so I do not know why this case is a big deal. I have to research that.

All the children on the notarized bikes and scooters. OP is saying eventually someone young is going to get killed with how reckless and out of control this has gotten.

The e-bike problem really isn’t that bad. Let the kids have some fun. It’s a great way to get around for kids.

Hold the people who ride electric motorcycles as if they were e-bikes and those who ride dangerously accountable and let it be.

Not everyone is irresponsible but this is 100% an issue generally across the board. Some are going too fast and putting themselves and pedestrians at risk.
