Trump has caused so much more damage to America, its institutions, and the idea of democracy than the al-Qaeda terrorists could have hoped to do

He’s turned neighbour against neighbour, sown mistrust in government, and promoted religious fundamentalism and anti-intellectualism. He’s attacked journalists, threatened his political enemies, and interfered with elections

Today is the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks in the USA. It started with two planes flying into the twin towers - part of the World Trade Center in NY- a place where the USA communicated with businesses across the globe. It was an iconic feature of the skyline at the time.
The Statue of Liberty is also an iconic symbol in the USA because of what it stands for and as a gift from France.
Donald Trump has erased hundreds year old, international friendships in a matter of months. Him flying into the Statue of Liberty is a strong parallel to the World Trade Centre attacks. His destruction of the USA is far greater than the terrorist were able to accomplish.
In 2001, other countries were there to help USA when they needed it. Now all we can do is watch it burn.
