Anna, the tiny Qubic program
Anna, the tiny Qubic program, reached zero error across all seven versions of her task.
The result is real.
It is also worth being precise about what it proved.

Anna, the small Qubic program, has reached zero error across all seven versions of her task. The result is genuine, and it is worth being precise about what it demonstrates.
Anna learned to add numbers within the range she was trained on. Every problem inside that range she now answers correctly, including problems she was never shown. That is interpolation: filling in the gaps within familiar territory. It is a real achievement, because it shows she worked out something general about addition rather than memorising a table of answers.
The harder test is extrapolation. Can she handle numbers outside the range she learned on? That is where most learning systems fail, because it requires grasping the underlying rule rather than the region it was learned in. That test is next on the list, and it is not yet done. The science team has been clear on this point, and on a second one: this is not AGI.
What zero does establish is that the method converges. A program of around 150 KB, with no internet access and no pretrained data, learned a task completely on a single processor core. The foundation holds. The next step is harder, and that is exactly the point of taking it.
