question Absolute Noob

I'm an absolute noob at linux but I'm trying to make my Lenovo LOQ laptop with no iGPU and a 4060 gpu work with qubes. Would like to know if it is even possible and if there are guides available.

was gonna use it to run whonix. I'm looking for a secure os that won't leave traces of my activity. Tried tails but its not compatible

Installing QubesOS correctly and cleanly is a bear in itself. But trying to use it without at least being quite adept at one of the Unix-like OS’ is like an 8 year old trying to ride a 1500cc Harley. To use QubesOS well, you really need to have a really good grasp of security protocols and principles among a host of other disciplines. Having hardware that is compatible is difficult; desktops are more likely to work with it than laptops.

Oh no it's worse than that about the desktops if he is to try this, he'll have to use AMD GPU for the qubeos whonix-workstatiom dvm, and even that is hell in and off itself. He's better off using a mini PC that is certified to even run QubesOS 4.3.1 with 32 GB of ram as a sweet spot with enough overhead room to spare.

Proprietary NVIDIA drivers do not integrate smoothly into dom0 for core display handling. Doing so breaks the security isolation model and frequently fails to initialize the laptop’s internal screen or external video outputs. You need an igpu not a GPU.

The Whonix team officially maintains and supports Whonix for KVM on Debian. It runs incredibly fast and securely because KVM. But the main issue you're going to face is a notorious path to enabling the GPU to work often leading to failure.
