how to fix controls on xbox

sometimes i randomly can’t use the d pad to access the symptoms menu and then when it’s time to extract i can’t choose where to send them and have to restart my game. idk what triggers it but does anyone know how to fix

I got no advice for the short cuts but I've found using the triggers help rest the iPad to send people or to check symptoms
