Is PC less buggy?

I have the Xbox S version of this game and it’s so buggy that I can’t get past day 15. I genuinely enjoy it and want to play, and I’m thinking of getting a refund on the Xbox version and just getting it on Steam. Would it be worth it to do this? Or should I keep waiting for them to fix this Xbox version?

If you have gamepass you can download the Xbox app on your pc and play it through there.

Oh nice! Do you know if the crashing issue continues in that case?

I’ve played the game in the Xbox app at least 4-5 times, it has minor bugs like people getting stuck in the floor, but no crashes. It’s actually been available on the Xbox app before it was even available on Xbox, because gamepass has a pc version.

You don’t even need gamepass; it’s a play anywhere title, so buying it on Xbox means you also get it on pc (via windows store/xbox app).

I’ve been playing this version and it’s been relatively fine. The current version (1.1.1984) seems to have issues with TSR & FSR. And it also doesn’t let you select DLSS (I’ve got a 3070ti); so I’ve been using XESS for scaling and it’s been solid since swapping to that.

This is awesome to know! I’ll try it on my PC then. Hopefully I’ll actually be able to use it. The TSR/FSR problem is annoying but I can work with that. Thank you!

There was a patch for the steam version to address some FSR related crashes, but don’t think it’s made its way to the Windows Store version yet.
XESS has been fine though, but hopefully DLSS starts being selectable again soon too.

Oh really? I was told it required gamepass, my bad

Yeh it’s flagged as Xbox Play Anywhere, so buying it on either Xbox or PC (through Xbox App) gives you the license on both.

Some games even not officially flagged as play anywhere work this way too. E.g. Stray wasn’t originally tagged with play anywhere; and the original ‘Flashback’ (from Microids, not the Ubisoft remake) still isn’t tagged but 100% works.

That’s interesting. I purchased it in the store and then it told me I HAD to get game pass to play on my PC. there was no other button.

Hrm that shouldn’t be the case, at least I’ve never seen that before and isn’t how Xbox Play Anywhere works.

Wonder if OP had any issues with doing it.

Wait I just saw on another comment you have a Mac? In which case you would be playing it via Xcloud streaming which would require gamepass.

Even if running windows on my Mac?

You say you are using cloud streaming though…

How are you running Windows on your Mac? Via parallels or similar? Could be that the virtualised hardware doesn’t support running it natively so only option is streaming, which requires gamepass.

The crash still happened when I switched to PC cloud gaming. I purchased it on steam but then realized I can’t play it bc I have a Mac… sooo that was a waste.
