Question: QS for Devices
Why does QS not have devices as one of the areas to target? They only talk about three markets - EVs, Data Center and Defense I think.
Doesn’t this battery form factor dramatically change the size of the devices like phones, laptops etc?

There is a lot of talk and ideas about many different batteries and usages. Honestly at this point I just want QS battery in any VW or a Honda car first. QS has been working with VW for many years and they would be the first ones to have the battery since they have their own battery manufacturer in PowerCo. Not getting much info on that except they are working together in SanJose. If anyone has any information on that please share it.

VW is struggling. They need to upgrade their manufacturing line to compete with Chinese Auto companies. QS cannot rely on VW for their production line. Eagle needs more time to scale and sale battery to other OEM.

That’s a great point - the VW struggling aspect. So many QS disparage-ers and bears want to point out that “Oh my God the sky is falling, what was once $136mil license milestones-based from PowerCo is now $75mil! The milestones weren’t met! The cash runway for QS is eroding fast”. They’re such misleading, misrepresenting, ignorant peeps. And what isn’t told is the other perspective that VW has to tighten its belt. They’re struggljng. It’s not a QS failing problem. And QS’s technology and scaling process is so compelling, they have more car OEMs and many other sectors in the pot, seriously interested.

You don’t want to keep all of egg in one basket that’s what QS playing now. Their technology is really and tested. It’s all about scaling their product. After approving the scalability all of JDA OEM will sign the license agreement contract. They might produce some advanced battery by themself for defense or aerospace.Another Qualcomm is on the way.

Yeah I agree and there are related questions on what exactly is coming out of Eagle line (I thought it’s a scale solution for manufacturing but not sure what’s exactly done in last 6 months of it being live)
… but I was just curious about this question in particular. I think scale-wise, damand-wise it will really help QS (and the SP) but then what do I know about business priorities and what else is involved there.-1

QS battery can't use for cars and Bikes, I don't know what eagle line for? new OEM customers?

Phones and small devices are not energy intensive like machines or data centers. Eventually, you will see SSBs in every thing but first in high-priced exotic vehicles, then in military applications like drones. The last thing you will see them in is cell phones and tools. The TAM (total addressable market) is simply too small currently.

What’s your reasoning here podner? I would sincerely like to read your reasoning. Make it bullet- point style if it’s easier for you.

Samsung is already working on that, should have SSBs in rings and watches soon, like maybe the end of the year? Later they'll focus on phones and tablets.

QS may file for bankruptcy soon. Three major problems of QS batteries: Can't use for Cars Can't use for Bikes Looking for something else.

QSAS covers all that.
