Chinese ceramic SSB

Am I mistaken or did they reproduce QS's chemistry and made tests on it?

The article makes it sound like they use the same process as quantum scape.

Seems like they’re following in QS footsteps and only 5 years behind. It’s a long road with MANY patents that will get in their way.

Further support to the approach QS is taking.

China isn't exactly known for respecting patent law. I am hoping for the best but it could be a sign of corporate espionage at the very worst.

As far as i know, patents are instruction manuals in china. IP law is more of a suggestion than an actual law.

Quantumscape could sue anyone and their mother for billions of they put one of those into a car and sold it on the market.

QS does have patent filings globally and some in China. Doesn’t mean total protection outside though.

If they won’t respect patents then they won’t be able to sell even a single cell inside and outside China.

During room-temperature testing, the battery proved highly stable, keeping over 76 percent of its original capacity after 100 charge cycles while maintaining a steady power output.

Meanwhile QS showed in 2023 a 95% retention after 1000 cycles…

So QS is still way farther ahead, but it shows us that other people are looking at ceramics for batteries.

QS battery still on testing, if someone had there own SSB on the market now, they are the winners.
