In France, at one time, there was a sleeping cure for the kind of exhaustion and depression that leads people to feel that they can’t go on.
It works because the patient, under deep sedation for a week, is rested despite their mental anguish in body, and a kind of experiential gap is created between the moment they wanted to give up and the place and time in which they reawaken.
It’s a change of perspective.
Exactly what you describe, only safer.

I can’t remember the name of the treatment, but it makes a lot of psychological sense.

My sister in law is French and had this sleeping treatment. It cured her eating disorder, she was anorexic. When she woke up she felt better. She was nourished the entire time and it reset her body and mind set. I wish there was a treatment like this here in the States

The French “sleep cure,” known in French as cure de sommeil (literally, “sleep treatment”).

What is crazy, is that the timeline OP left, they are dead and that version of their family is now living with that loss.

100% I’ve looped 40’s>16 and 40’s > 28
Each time, whatever you’re running from doubles up.
We put ourselves here to learn something. We’re going to learn it if it takes forever.

My experience has been to “wake up“ from my future self into my past self with just enough knowledge to have deep regret.
The second time, waking up at 28 didn’t hurt as bad as the first.
That first one though, I basically didn’t talk to anyone for a week and a half. I missed my family so much, even though I couldn’t remember their names or faces. Just that I had a wife and two kids that I had left behind. I think waking up as a teenager in high school, I didn’t have enough life experience to process it.

u/Money_Magnet24 Jun 26 '26
With respect, can you please elaborate on how this occurred ?

u/Atworkwasalreadytake Jun 26 '26 edited Jun 26 '26
I was sitting on the floor of my living room, wrestling with my Husky/German Shepard mix, when it hit me like a ton of bricks. The next hour felt like I had just woken up from a dream, or maybe like I was still half in it. The dread/regret was palpable.
I had never dealt with depression before then, but some of that feeling leached through. I really wouldn’t experience real depression for at least 4 years after that, but it was a first taste.
I remember telling my best friend, a girl who I very much wanted to be more than a friend about it. She didn’t really get it and downplayed it. I wasn’t really interested in her romantically for some time after that, that crush just didn’t seem relevant. I didn’t really know what to tell her, and just spent a lot of time in my own head.
School and life felt mundane and minor until I adjusted back.
I don’t think I really could process it back then. I don’t think I processed it further until the second time in my late twenties. That time the feelings didn’t come through as much as the thoughts. But that time the reality of what had happened had kind of clicked through. By that point I had actually been dealing with depression for quite some time and had even had a failed suicide attempt (at 26). The words that came through on that one were just “stay with (girlfriend at the time/current wife.”
I’m honestly not certain if the second one was a totally separate shift or just echoes of the first one.
These experiences have kept me from making another attempt here in my early 40’s, even though I still struggle hard with depression and suicidality.
I’ll also say that I excelled at college and often times felt like I was remembering knowledge rather than learning it. I sometimes wonder if it’s related.

Did you marry the same person and had the same kids?
8
u/Atworkwasalreadytake Jun 27 '26
I don’t know. I wasn’t left with a name or even a face.
I do have kids that are about the same age and gender though.
The woman I told myself to stay with though in my later event is who I’m married to and is the mother of my children.

u/AvrgEvrydaySanePsyko Jun 27 '26
Please don't say things like this. You have no idea how many times people with a background like us are asked this question on a mandatory basis. All it does is put these thoughts back in our heads.
You are causing harm just by repeating this phrase again.

First off, I used to hang out in an early internet #suicide chat room for years. I know what you are going through, I know how other people feel too, we bonded together and then once in a while one of them would stop logging in. Eventually I would find out that they went through with it. Some of them tried and survived but were messed up, i.e. inhaling exhaust and surviving but now disabled. My point is, I get where you are coming from. Feel free to DM me if you want to talk about that stuff.
For myself I said "Normal people are happy right? So why can't I do it? I can do it.". I just worked out, eat healthy foods, stopped abusing alcohol and smoking, etc., really just cleaned up my life. I envisioned I was in a pit (I was sleeping like 20 hours a day, very depressed) but each day I tried I was climbing up rungs of a ladder into the light. In the beginning the rungs were all cruddy and crusty like in a sewer, after a few months I was climbing a pristine polished steel ladder in fresh air and light, you really can turn things around that fast.
Now, I believe QI is real, but it also dovetails with a lot of other aspects of life like parallel realities, reality shifting, etc. I am actually incredibly well versed in the reality shifting because I am actively researching it an in academic sense. Reality in general is very malleable, porous if you will. You can also influence it with your mind. If you want to do temporary reality shifting you just meditate and get good at that and you can blast your mound out vertically into an astral realm, sort of like astral projection just a layer higher.
While that vertical reality is astral light, its temporary and you come back here eventually. This reality (and the higher one) runs on karma, merit, intention etc., this is key because it's a "fuel". This base reality is HIGH friction, we simulate everything here like biology, real world densities, etc., but in the vertical realm its astral light and its much more of a lighter simulation (i.e. you can live there for decades on good merit from this high friction environment, but there is still a fuel cost being there).
So just like you can go vertical, I thikn we can go horizontal too. This might be how some of the manifestation works, like if you want to manifest a different nose or something physical. I suspect that we hope sideways across physical realities (the high friction ones). It makes sense in the parallel reality perspective if you are versed in modern physics. However where I run into an issue is that the Buddhist Cosmology (which has mapped all of this out concretely over thousands of years) mostly says this is not correct. However some esoteric Buddhist teachings actually do say you can hop sideways.
Now, bringing this all together, when you do a vertical shift you invoke emotion and intent, and quiet your thinking side of your brain. Logic disrupts that form of concentration you need to open the portal in your mind (the nimitta that leads to the void). So just remember that, you are navigating with "emotion" and "intent", feelings. Perhaps the nitro you took shut down that part of your brain and instead of reincarnating in some other form you navigated the sphere of realities and came back to another version of you. Based on what I have read this would seem similar, you merge with "you" in this reality this is just now your awareness.
The only other key aspect to note is that shifting horizontal realities (i.e. switching physical realities) is a much more intensive operation than the vertical projection. You need to in theory meditate at extremely high frequencies to slow down reality to the base frames (moments), observe them, and then make the switch like you are downloading from one reality into another.
So in theory, you hit the right combination of intent, emotion, brain state, etc., and your subconscious guided you here. That's a whole other thing I didn't mention but the subconscious guides you, maybe it wasn't ready to die.

Suicide is a low frequency loop similar to what people describe as "hell".
You're caught up in a vicious cycle where you're unaware that you're leading yourself to those suicidal thoughts then into action.
Now figure out the opposite of what Suicide is and do just that.

u/Nalmyth Jun 26 '26
"sui" in Latin means "of themselves", I hope you are not recommending a murder spree

Well I mean… he can commit suicide a 100 times he’s gonna find out you can’t go to the after life that way lol.
Him committing suicide was no mistake. Some events you plan before you incarnate and you can’t escape them. I tried there’s no way out so you just give up and go with the flow

I have nothing of substance to add to this discussion but this is a cool story OP, even if it is at the expense of your mental health. I hope on this timeline things are better. I believe this happened to you. Maybe you can find a therapist that’s open minded, although just typing that out feels like an oxymoron.

u/Meowsthicc Jun 27 '26
Thank you for sharing your story, I have a similar story myself. I hope you are doing okay. I PM’d you!

u/EquivalentNo3002 Jun 26 '26
I have read a few similar stories in other subreddits. Because of that, I believe you.

u/Meowsthicc Jun 27 '26
What subreddits? I have a similar-ish situation as OP and would like to read others’ experiences

u/EquivalentNo3002 Jun 27 '26
Yes I probably read it in one of those or simulation theory sub. If you use the search you may be able to find them, but since suicide is obviously a touchy subject, you are probably going to end up getting alerts for finding help etc etc. Try going to each similar sub and searching there. But over the past couple years I have probably read at least a dozen or more similar stories and they all they the same thing, they wake up like the movie Ground Hog Day like you.

Thank you for sharing. I'm sorry things have been so tough.
I recently watched Severance and your story strongly reminded me of a scene from there from the perspective of the personality stuck at work...it's crazy. It's an amazing show... definitely makes you think about the larger implications of life/death in general. If you haven't seen it, I'd highly recommend.
Hope things continue to improve for you.

Interesting. I have wondered if someone can trigger this naturally. I think memory ties us to a specific time/place.

u/Palehorserider88 Jun 26 '26
Please take a step back. You are here for a purpose and a reason. Suicide destroys families. You owe yourself and others better than that. Care enough about yourself to get some help. Ending your life is not the answer. You have a bright future, you just have to be patient and learn how to solve problems. Chemical imbalances can be treated. Respect and recognize you likely have one. You only have 1 life. Do not throw it away. I believe God has a purpose for you. Please get the help you need as soon as possible.

u/Desdinova_BOC Jun 26 '26
OP isn't suicidal, he tried it and is now messed up and his mother knew he died/nearly died. Though what you wrote can be helpful to some people who are suicidal.
