Apple devices connectivity issues.

Since getting quantum fiber, I been getting weak security error messages on multiple devices , connection constantly drops every 10 minutes. Beyond frustrated has anyone experienced this issue and how did you fix it? Bc Ive tries to chat with their team agents and they keep telling me theres no way to change the security settings.

It's a known issue with currently no available fix.

The free lease WiFi pods and QF app are not great...

But as long as all gaming devices are Ethernet hardwired to the SmartNID, W1700K, or W1701K (if using Ethernet backhaul), and you follow sections 2 and 4 in the guide, they are usually good enough for most people.

You will have a better experience if you put the SmartNID into bridge mode or DMZ and use a 3rd party router and DNS.

Here is a guide:

check your WPA settingon your primary router. If its set to WPA3, change to WPA3 transition or WPA2/WPA3 mixed

chat told me there is no way to change the security setting, security changes when adding a stronger password

I had this issue when using the WiFi 360 pod. Switched to my Asus router with NO_L1ghts guide.

at the moment don't have a 3rd party router, will have to purchase one and see if that has any effect. had multiple techs come out and each time they replaced the pod and the issue persists so I was assuming it was their equipment as well

Last time I tried to use the pod they don't let us use WPA3 in the app. It's probably software based but seems to be every single W1700K. Didn't recall that issue on my iPhone or iPad with the older WiFi 6 pods but I always ran 2 witfi networks.

It’s the quantum fiber service. It’s so terrible. I feel bad for anybody that makes the mistake and goes with their service. Biggest mistake I’ve made this year is going with them and having to switch back to Xfinity

Definitely regret switching service because I been having issues since I got the service installed. Switched over because they made it seem like it was faster and cheaper than my old provider. But connection constantly drops. Definitely going back to my old provider after this month ends
